Okay, this is LATS chapter 5. And since i'm featuring other people's characters, I figure I might as well give credit where credit is due, as opposed to doing it at the end.
Characters and their owners:
Riley the otter, Diago the rabbit, Jeremiah the wolf, Desmond the coyote, all owned by Riley Layne, also known as Oneamongnone.
Sarth the Dragon-wolf owned by Sarth Dracanor.
Felix the civet owned by Soulember.
Blizzard the polar bear owned by Polar.
Now that that's done, onto chapter five, (Loose Ends and How We Tied Them Up).

(Loose Ends and How We Tied Them Up)
Riley awoke slowly, enjoying not having to wake up early for anything. He only had 3 classes a day, one at 11:00 AM, one at 2:00 PM, and one at 5:00PM. He had another two hours before his first class, Study of Ingredients. He thought that was a weird name for a class, but they studied how certain things complimented each other in foods, so he figured it was a good class to take for a Culinary Major. He walked downstairs from his dorm, bumping into Sarth on the way down. "Oh, hey!" he smiled cheerily at the dragon-wolf. Sarth smiled down at the otter. "Ah, good morning...Riley, was it?" Riley nodded.
The two sat down in the lounge for a bit, just chatting. "So, your part wolf, but mostly dragon? So does that make you a wag-" "Don't say it." Sarth growled, a look of pure murder in his eyes. "Um...okay...sorry..." Sarth cooled off. "So, your mind seems somewhere else, Riley. Anything going on you wanna talk about?" Riley sighed, his emerald eyes seeming to darken. "Well, I came here to get AWAY from my problems, but the last few months have been awful...I lost my Father and me and my mate Desmond had to seperate." he sighed again, heavily. Sarth frowned slightly. "Sorry to hear that. So I take it you side with Felix and Blizz, then?"
Riley tilted his head. "What do you mean by that?" "Well, technically just Blizz, but you prefer males?" Riley blushed awkwardly. "Uh, you could say that...what about Felix?" Sarth shrugged. "I'm pretty sure Felix will go for anyone, if theres any sort of spark." Riley smiled. "Oh, okay...where are they, anyway?" Just as the sentance entered the air, Felix leaped off the stairs onto the couch next to Riley, and Blizz came shortly behind him. "Show off..." the bear muttered, sitting down by Riley and smiling. "Morning, otter."
Riley smiled sheepishly. "Oh...m-morning...." he looked up at the ice bear. Felix smirked. "Aww cmon Blizz, give the otter some room, your gonna squish him." Blizz smirked widely. "Nah, not gonna squish him until later~" Riley's eyes widened as he understood the joke, wringing his tail nervously, not daring to look up. "Aw guys, leave the poor thing alone." Sarth said, smirking. As they sat, a rabbit boy dressed in a black jacket, black jeans, adorned with chains and extensive ear piercings came over and set down a tray with coffee cups and bagels. "Yo Diago!" Felix grinned and waved. Diago smiled a bit. "Hey Felix, who's this one?" he said, walking over to Riley and poking him.
"That's Riley, my roomate." Felix said, smiling. "He's painfully shy, let him be for a bit." Diago nodded and went to the shop, closing up and taking off his apron, then sitting with the group. Sarth tilted his head. "You run the coffee shop, Diago? I never knew that.." he said, picking up a bagel and scarfing it down. "Mhm, I needed extra money for new semester, so I picked up a few part time jobs. Riley smiled and looked a the rabbit, surprised by the 20-something piercings in the black rabbit's large ears. "D-did those...hurt?" he asked timidly. "Eh, a bit, but the effect was worth it." he smiled. Riley was interested. "How many do you have?" "Twenty two." he said proudly. Riley counted the ones on his ears and the stud in his nose. "But...I only count 21..." Diago smirked. "The twenty second one is somewhere else." Riley's eyes widened. "Y-you mean..." He nodded. "I'll admit, THAT one hurt."
The group split up for classes, but not before everyone made sure Riley had their mobile number. Blizz even double checked, making Riley a bit more confident that Blizz had a thing for him. He finished his first two classes, then met up with everyone else for lunch. Riley was reaching for his wallet to order when Blizz put a huge paw over Riley's own. "Don't worry, it's on me." he said, licking Riley's muzzle softly. Riley blushed deeply, but accepted the generous offer and ordered something light and cheap, as to not be a burden. He knew money was tight for any student here, and he didn't want to impose.
The waitress came by, a stunning gray wolf, wearing the unfortunately unflattering light blue resteraunt uniform. Her name tag read "Lilika". Sarth smiled up at her, and she returned the smile. "What'll you guys be having?" she asked, and they all placed their orders. She smiled. "I'll be right out with your appetizers and drinks, okay?" her tail swished as she walked back to the kitchen. Sarth smirked a bit. "Cutie, eh?" Blizz facepalmed. "Your seriously gonna try and pick her up?" Riley snickered. "No!" Sarth said, blushing lightly. "Just sayin'...."
Their appetizers and drinks came, which they finished over light conversation, discussing their days so far. Blizz scooted up next to Riley, smiling. "Ello otter." "Ello, Icebar." he replied. Blizz chuckled. "Icebar? Is that your name for me, now?" Riley nodded, giggling. "Cute." Blizz smirked, patting Riley's head. Diago and Felix were talking, Diago fiddling with his earrings absently. Diago was known as a pretty big flirt, as was Felix, so it seemed unavoidable that they would hit it off.
They're lunches came and they finished them off, as well. Then they walked off to the plaza for a bit of fun before they had classes again, at 4 or 5. Riley and Blizz played in the sand and swam for a bit. Sarth looked through his wallet, checking on how much money he had left, suddenly realizing Lilika had written something on his receipt. "Score..." he chuckled. Diago tilted his head. "Hm?" "The waitress gave me her number." he smirked, stretching his wings. "And it says 'Call me when you have some time, dragon. <3'." Diago grinned. "Get some, Sarthy!" Sarth punched him in the arm softly. "Jealous?" Diago shook his head, nodding over at Felix. Felix walked over to them, glomping Diago. "Hey~." he chuckled.
They spent they're time meandering and playing, then went back to class until 6, where they all met up in Blizz and Sarth's dorm for cards and X-box. They played a couple games of poker, and Diago walked away with his pockets heavier then when they started. They played a few rounds of Left 4 Dead 2, Halo 3, Blizz watched Riley play Bayonetta for a bit, and then watched a movie. Sarth had invited Lilika over to join them, and she was, surprisingly, quite the avid gamer. She beat everyone but Sarth at Soul Calibur, and even he had trouble keeping up with her.
They played until the wee hours of morning, when everyone went their seperate ways. Diago and Felix had decidedly claimed Felix and Riley's dorm as their own for the night, Sarth and Lilika had gone back to her place, and Riley was left with Blizz in his dorm. "O-oh sorry, is it okay if I crash here for the night? Diago took my room..." Blizz smirked and pulled him close. "More than okay...." Riley blushed but held him tight, feeling safe. Blizz pressed his muzzle against the other's softly, stroking his tail. "Mmm....such a cute otter." they sat there comfortably, kissing and snuggling until they both fell asleep.
