Could be a 2-handed weapon, to allow the blade to be used sideways as well.
Doesn't need to be double edged honestly. :3 A double handed sideswing is difficult to block, as the man can use both arms as leverage.

I think my favorite of the outfit is the poncho. I don't know why but I think ponchos are super pretty. :D

The styling of his clothing looks magnificent. His build is beautifully athletic, I can see the strength in his arms and how comfortable he is with the sword. The scabbard really has a luxurious design. His posture gives the impression that he is very skilled and I could see him being able to use both the sword and the dagger at the same time. From the scars on his face, I would say he's a seasoned fighter and his expression is full of confidence. He is a noble warrior.
