(Crashing Waves)
Riley woke up, stretching, happy to see his coyote still clinging tightly to his waist. He shook him softly, waking him up. Desmond smirked, "You couldn't wait 20 minutes for me to get up on my own?" he teased, nipping the otter's ear. Riley blushed and pushed him jokingly, getting out of bed and getting dressed in his travel clothes, which consisted of a surf shirt and board shorts, naturally. Desmond wore jeans and a white t-shirt, as usual. The pair smiled, packing their things back up, then taking a taxi to the port to pick up the truck. It seemed in decent shape, although there were a few nicks and dents that were definately not there before. Desmond bared his fangs, pissed that his truck had been damaged, but Riley calmed him down with a friendly lick. "It's okay Des...don't make a scene, let's just get our stuff and get going..." he said, looking around cautiously.
They drove off the ship and went back to their hotel, packing all their bags in the truck bed again, strapping it down and waving to the concierge and driving off towards Jeremiah's house. Riley fell asleep rather quickly, snoring cutely against the truck door. Desmond smiled warmly at him and continued driving, stopping after 2 hours to get out and stretch by an empty beach. He roused Riley, smirking. "Riley, get out, your gonna like this..." Riley rubbed his eyes, then the suddenly widened. "F-f-FISHING!!!" he gasped, rushing to the water and diving in. Desmond facepalmed, shaking his head. "Silly otter...all he thinks of is fish."
Riley fished for 30 minutes, bringing a bunch of fair-sized fish back. "We should roast them for lunch..." he said, licking his lips hungrily. Now, Riley would never harm a fly, but he would most definately hurt a fish. Desmond sighed, not wanting to waste time, but he couldn't say no to Riley. He gathered up some dry driftwood and stacked it up, taking out his lighter and igniting it. Riley smiled and roasted the fish one by one on a stick, gave half to Desmond, then scarfed his half down. "I guess skipping breakfast was't really a good option, eh Riles?" Riley smirked. "It's alright, you made it up to me." Desmond winked at him, "We'll have plenty of swimming to do when we get to Jeremiah's. So Let's clean up and get going." Riley nodded, washing off his fish-scented fur in the water, then drying off and getting back in the truck, smiling contently and slipping down into his seat.
They reached the rather large house a few hours later. Desmond unloaded their bags and rang the doorbell. Jeremiah answered, grinning. "Desmond!" he hugged him. "It's been years, mate!" Desmond nodded. "Yeah, it really has..." he said, walking back to the truck to drag Riley with him. "This is Riley...." Riley smiled bashfully, looking down. "Aww, a shy one, eh?" Desmond nodded. "Yeah, panfully so." "Well, bring your things and we'll set you up, yes?" Jeremiah said, chuckling. The pair nodded, dragging their heavy bags in, throwing them in the spare room Jeremiah had cleaned out for them.
Riley smiled and sat on the bed, looking at their temporary home, satisfied. Desmond settled back to him, hugging the otter around the stomach, his chin resting on Riley's shoulder. Jeremiah smirked. "Alright lovebirds, let's get a move on, I've got things to show you." They nodded, slightly embarrased. The tree of them walked outside and looked out over the water. Jeremiah had a small patio set up on a small cliff overlooking the ocean, evidently for fishing. They continued to explore until about 6, then they went home.
Jeremiah sat, reading a book back at home, Riley and Desmond watching a mvoie together in the room next to him. Jeremiah put the book down, and looked over at them. "Hey Des, you wouldn't happen to want to go drinking for a bit, would you?" Desmond didn't know if he should say yes, seeing as Riley didn't like drinking and most likely wouldn't go with them. Riley smiled softly and kissed Desmond. "It's fine Des, go have fun. Just come back in one piece, okay?" he winked. Desmond nodded and hugged him tight, then put a jacket on and waved, walking out with Jeremiah.
The two went to a nearby pub, starting off with Baileys and quickly working their way down to straight vodka. Jeremiah was a heavyweight and still wasn't too phased, but Desmond was almost out already. A tiger walked up to him, smirking. "Hey doggie, need some help?" he licked his lips deviously as he helped Desmond back up in his seat. Jeremiah didn't notice, more focused on the bartender. Desmond smiled up at the tiger. "Thanksh...." he slurred, almost falling back over.
"You should lay down, you look awful..." the tiger chimed softly in his ear, leading him off to the beach and helping him lay down, sitting by him. "Mm...feeling better?" Desmond nodded softly, grinning. "I'm Deshmund..." he said. The tiger chuckled. "Rasta." he replied, stretching. "So, you here alone? I can tell your not from around here..." He nodded, misunderstanding the question. "Ohh....reallllly now~?" he purred, pulling Desmond up to his chest, licking his cheek. Desmond blushed, but let him.
At home, Riley panicked, wringing his tail. "W-where is he? I knew I should've said no...ugh! Stupid otter, stupid stupid otter!" he said, grabbing at his fur. He ran out the door, trying to track him by scent, althugh the alchohol would most likely overpower it. He went into the pub and grabbed Jeremiah. "Where's Desmond?!" he said. Jeremiah wiped his mouth. "Who...?" he said, in a stupor. "Ugh!" Riley growled, turning away from the evidently useless wolf and running around the pub, looking for him. 10 minutes later, he spotted him down at the beach with Rasta on top of him.
He stormed down to the beach, glaring at the tiger. "Who the hell are you?" he said, shoving him off. "And you!" he yelled, grabbing Desmond's arm. "What the hell are you doing with HIM?" Desmond shook out of the daze almost immediately. "R-riley?" he asked. Riley growled loudly and let go. "Ugh, why did I trust my future to YOU?" He said, tears forming in his eyes. "R-riles...wait..." Desmond said. Riley just shook his head, teardrops falling behind him as he ran in the direction of a thick forest not far from the pub.
Desmond facepalmed. "Ugh...dammit." Rasta looked at him innocently. "W-what?" Desmond shook his head and just charged after Riley on all fours. Riley hid in a thick undergrowth of vines and bushes, laying on his side and sobbing himself to sleep. Desmond looked until it got pitch black, but couldn't find him. He collapsed in the dirt, out like a light.
The next morning, Riley woke up, sighing and cleaning himself off and walking back to the house, sitting on the patio overlooking the water, kicking his paws in the air. Desmond came up behind him a while later, sitting next to him. "Hey...R-riles....I'm sorry about what happened...." Riley remained silent for a bit, not looking in his direction for a while. "Desmond...why would you do that to me...?" he said softly. Desmond started tearing up. "Riley, I didn't know what I was doing..." Riley barked back. "Damn straight, you didn't." Desmond frowned.
"Riley...just listen. You know how much I care about you...and nothing ever happened, I swear." Riley remained silent again, then turned to him. "Do you mean it?" he said flatly. Desmond nodded. "I'm so sorry...Riley, please...we came here to start everything over...please?" Riley sighed. "Well, your not off to a good start...." Desmond started sobbing. "Please Riley...i'd never do anything to hurt you..." Riley smirked. "Too late for that, Des." Des took a deep breath. "Please Riley? I swear it'll never happen again..." Riley smirked. "Never?" he nodded. "Never." he responded. Riley grinned wide and tackled him onto the ground, kissing him deeply. ".....Love you Riles." He smirked. "Love you more, you dumb coyote~" he teased, snuggling him.
