Though my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light, I have loved the stars too fondly To be fearful of the night.
Randolf as a character has a bit of a dark backstory that I could go into for a short moment. Randolf from a young age was very proficient with his shadow abilities and his father saw great potential in him and trained him very often. However during one of the training sessions, Randolf very accidentally killed his father through the use of a shadow portal and one of his father daggers that was being used in the training. He was incredibly distraught and it didn't help that his own family then disowned him and kicked him out within the day, calling him dark, evil, awful, and most of all a murderer, even though it was an accident and his father knew that in his dying breath.
It was soon after that he was found by one very blue wonderful person, that being Manny Raibolt, my first main character that you may all know. He was taken in by Manny's family and it turned out that Randolf was a very observant person, intelligent, and incredibly kind but his father's death hung over him no matter how many times Manny, his family, and his friends reminded him that it wasn't his fault. And with that, he found alcohol... And learned that it helped him to control his emotions better so that he wasn't distraught. That said, if you have a problem with drinking or see others who have that problem, help them seek help please if they truly do need it. In any case, Randolf consumed alcohol very regularly and as he grew older, while he was an incredibly silly mightyena who was also observant, he found that while he could control his shadows with very adept abilities for when he was alone, it eventually got to the point where his own shadow became a sentient being being slightly more serious but a very calming influence that helped him drink alcohol just a bit less, just a bit. He became an adventurer looking to understand more of the world and genuinely be there for people when they were needed.
His gear are a series of daggers that he had created himself that he can basically bring back to him like a boomerang with his shadow portals and dark magic, he has a series of bottles the belt of his main outfit that he has for the alcohol and keeps a very large supply, and his clothing tends to be made in a way that allows him to be nimble and in control of the situation. He has tried in recent years to get back into his family but no matter what assistance that Manny or others provide him, they seem very unwilling to budge, no matter how good of a person he can be, no matter his intelligence and abilities, it doesn't do anything to get their attention back. Eventually, Manny and Randolf did get together and formed a close relationship with each other to the point that I want to say is perhaps marriage or something along those lines. However for now, they are on a journey of their own, with Randolf adventuring wherever and soaking in different cultures and abilities, and Manny's ability to grow and change at will with a mix of his confidence in bounty hunting, their paths very often intersect and brings their bond ever closer.
There will likely be more to the story of Randolf or my other characters in the future as I'm trying to learn more about character creation and story. I hope you enjoyed it though.
Hello again, everyone! I hope all of you have been doing well as of late. So, I thought it was about time to show off one of the wonderful artworks I commissioned from my good friend khuraji , an artist and a person who has been an inspiration to me and many others. His artwork shines in a brilliant light through a variety of means that I want to go over. He has a way of showing off a characters emotion and personality which can often be the same thing but not always, he has a way of understanding art and brings up subjects about it in a nice philosophical way when I talk with him. The way he does the posing, anatomy, colors and shading and combine them in a fascinating way with his water-color and flat color works are just wonderful to see, as through his studies of color theory and emotions, he can make a character come out in such a brilliant way. I've got a few things from him over the past few years too and will always happily support him when I can and I always enjoy talking with him as he's very logical and kind when talking to me and others. There are many things that he does with his work that makes it stand out brilliantly among others, just like this piece of my shadow mightyena Randolf M Schmolt. I do honestly like the tribal design he made.
Speaking of the commission, this was an artistic freedom commission where I was able to give him three words. Those three words were Tribal Shadow Magic. He certainly loves drawing all manner of things, especially pokemon characters. I just love how this looks, how nimble and lean Randolf looks, his ability to use shadow magic is quite interesting honestly and the bone tribal jewelry certainly makes him stand out. His mantle mane thing is also quite interesting too, though I'm not sure if it's a coat or something or just part of his hair. In any case, I just love how friendly he looks through that darkness.
You can find the original piece here if you want to look and fave that.

Nice chunk of story there, would surely like to hear more about your chars!
There's plenty of things to be said of each of them. But thank you Silly for that, and I'm glad you like the backstory.
very interesting backstory for Randolf would love to see more of him. Plus a Mightyena <3
That could probably be arranged sometime. Glad you like it Mirthy!
A complex and rich story this one has! How long have you been musing about Randolf till now?
He's been in my repertoire of characters for quite some time now. I just don't show him much as I don't get as much artwork of him as I'd like.
Hmm. I see. But now that he’s here, I imagine we’re going to learn a lot about him, aren’t we? I’m looking forward to that.
