Kopa is the son of Nala and Chumvi, conceived during a night of passion the two of them shared right before Scar banished Chumvi and a few other males for suspected treason. By the time the cub is born, the Pridelands were in very bad shape as the land was suffering from a terrible drought and the herds were starting to move on as a result. Shortly after his birth, Nala leaves the little cub with his paternal aunt Kula who recently had a cub of her own so that she could leave the Pridelands to find help, with Kula offering to name him after their deceased brother Makopa. Nala later returns with the long lost Prince Simba who ends up overthrowing Scar, and after everything settled down Nala introduces Simba to her infant son and explains things to him. She no longer felt any romantic feelings for Chumvi, but she and Simba both agree that they should at least tell him about little Kopa. After finding him in the nearby Msingi Pride and introducing him to his son, Chumvi agrees to co-parent the young cub.

Kopa spent his childhood going back and forth between the Pridelands and the Msingi, which was also the case for his younger half-sister Aisha who was betrothed to a lion in the pride. Under his two parent's care, Kopa grows up to be a rather adventurous and mischievous little cub. One of his favorite things is to listen to others tell stories, especially those from the past before his birth. He ends up having many friends in both prides growing up, including Ni and Kula's son Afua, Malka's children Banou and Akili, two twin cubs named Babu and Boga, and even some non-lion animals such as a cheetah cub named Beba, a rock hyrax named Pimbi, and even a hyena pup named Asante (Although he kept his friendship with her a secret from everyone else). Since the kingdoms were so close, he’d spend about a week with Nala's family, then a week with Chumvi. But when Scar's spirit returned during a particularly rough dry season, Kopa was forced to remain in the Msingi Pride for an indefinite amount of time, with Nala stating that he would be safer there.

During this time, Kopa ends up spending more time with his cubhood friend Asante, with their mutual friendship gradually turning into something more...

This is my take on the infamous Kopa, Simba and Nala's son from the Six New Adventures book series. Even though I'm not exactly the biggest fan of the guy, I still wanted to include him in my TLK universe while straying away from the popular "Fluffy is Kopa" or "Kopa was killed by Zira" fan theories.

And please keep in mind, this is MY portrayal of Kopa. If you want to see him as the cub at the end of the first movie, that's fine. Just don't tell me I'm wrong because it's my TLK universe and you can't stop me. WHATEVA, AH DO WHAT AH WANT! *snap fingers*
