The idea behind doing these "combat lingerie" comics was that while I was looking through Google Image Search for inspiration for the armor Kathy will wear in the duel, I kept coming up with armor that was, to say the least, impractical. Most of them looked really cool, but left just about every vulnerable spot unprotected, while also being adorned with clumsy crap that would impede the wearer more than anything else.
So before I gave Kathy a sensible outfit, I wanted to lampshade the fact that the vast majority of "fantasy armor for women" was useless for its intended purpose, and could be equated with the ball gowns and royal dresses of past centuries.

Of course, there were comments saying it was magically enhanced to attract the arrows to the protected areas. Personally, I'd think that an arrow hitting those areas would be rather painful. LOL

I think I can sympathize with Fred, here. I have a sort of walking apnea. Sometimes, if I bend over to pick something up or some other activity, I'll forget to breathe again. Last Friday, (something happened) and my girlfriend had to remind me, "Breathe stupid!"

He has gold bars on the white shoulderboards of his red tunic. He used one as a fishing lure while they were traveling on the steam launch.

Kind of odd the classic/fantasy armor has boots while the uniforms lack....
Early in the series, Fred told Kathy that "only very high-ranking hyenas wear boots." They're a badge of office.
Plus, the way I draw legs is really not very "sexy." The boots help with that.
