When I told a friend of mine I was painting Warhammer minis, he immediately brightened up and said, "Oh! I have some old mini figs from the Aliens movie. I have to find them though." Queue a month later and he drops a box of eight figures on my doorstep. They're about an inch tall, made of lead, and were molded sometime in the early 90's. I looked them up and found sets being sold secondhand for around $160. I asked him if he wanted them back all things considered, but he said no. He wanted to see what they looked like painted.
I'm by no means amazing at this, but I do like how they turned out all things considered. They were also just a right pain to work with. I even had to buy some new brushes to get into the little cracks and crevices. And once again, enamel paints weren't doing me many favors.
Left to right we got Hicks, Frost, Drake, and Wierzbowski.
I have four more to go, and I want to 3D print some Xenomorphs at this scale to have myself a little diorama of sorts. Expect more sometime ... later. I want to space these out a bit, or I'll go mad.
Oh! The background image is one of LV426 from Alien. I removed the far away shots of Ripley and that guy what dies first, and then tinted the background a fun color.
