Pac-Man's name was inspired by the Japanese Onomatopoeia "Pakku-Pakku" a sound; when spoken, forces a mouth to open and close in rapid succession.

Pac-Man's design was partially inspired by the Japanese word "Kuchi" (which means "mouth") and also a Pizza with a slice missing.

The Original Pac-Man game was released in Japan in 1980 under the name "Puck-Man". The name was changed to "Pac-Man" when it was brought to the West to prevent any type of vandalism by switching the "P" in "Puck-Man" to an "F".

The Original Pac-Man is regarded as one of the most influential Video Game of all Time; for one, it's the first game to ever use "Power-Ups". This concept was inspired by various "Popeye the Sailor" shorts where Popeye gets stronger after eating a can of Spinach.

It is virtually impossible to beat Pac-Man in a traditional sense. If a player is able to beat Level 256, the player will be presented with a glitched screen and the level being unplayable. This was due to the fact that there was no ending cutscene in the game.
