From left to right, front to back: tactical squad, tactical squad, tactical squad, melta squad, company ancient, primaris lieutenant, Adrax Agatone, Chaplain Xiaphas Jurr, venerable dreadnought, primaris redemptor dreadnought.
Due to the lockdown since my return to civilization on May 8th, I've had a lot of time on my hands to work on my collections. For the time being, my focus has been on my Salamanders, working to get them to a point where I'm happy with them as both display pieces and tabletop figures.
I've been able to get an industrial pace going for working on infantry and dreadnought bases over the past couple of days now, with the intent of giving the impression of fighting across a volcanic ash-waste. The process itself was quite simple:
1) Apply water/PVA glue mixture to bases
2) Immerse bases in coarse sand
3) Seal coarse sand with thin superglue
4) Paint base using Black Templar contrast
5) Paint rim (I used copper for this)
As of this upload, I have since finished basing a librarian and another chaplain, completed Step 4 on a flamer squad and combi-melta veteran squad, and starting Step 4 on a vanguard veteran squad. With the exception of my rapier crews and Vulkan He'stan, the remainder of my Salamanders infantry models are ready for Step 4.
