With few funds he was able to make it to Alaska, but finding a job was even harder, especially when he didn't have any prior work experience. Soon he was able to get a job as a postal service sled dog, although that job was going to be way more difficult than Buck thought. The first few months wasn't easy, especially when he didn't have a particularly strong physique and wasn't even used to the snowy environment. That caused him to lag behind his other sled dog co-workers, but through strong will and determination, he kept at it for his job. As time went by, he grew strong, his gut shrank, and his postal uniform fit differently than before. Where once it was taut against his stomach now was taut against his strong muscles. After 6 months, he became one of the strongest sled dogs that Alaska has ever seen and Buck may have gotten a bit of a fetish feeling the harness leather stretch against his new muscles.
