Nala the Spinosaurus
Nala is a rather shy Spino, depsite being a full adult. She was born with a single sibling, an older brother, who stuck by her and took care of her for years on end. The two of them never knew their mother.
Her and her brother were living happily, until one day, when a volcano erupted and they were forced to flee their home. They ran and ran as fast as they could to get out of there. They dodged other carnivores and avoided the deadly, and sometimes fiery debris that was falling all around the two of them.
But...Nala's life changed in just a few short seconds.
A flying rock from the volcano was hurtling towards her, and she had injured her ankle just a few moments before. But at the last few moments, something pushed her out of harm's way and took the blow instead of her.
She was dazed, and passed out. She awoke two hours later, the eruption having come to a stop. She was relieved, until she saw her brother was nowhere to be found. She looked around, before spotting a familiar head poking out from under a rock. She gasped and dug away the debris, only to find what was once her brother, cold and dead under the volcanic rock.
She was heartbroken and cried at the sight. She cried for quite a while, before hearing her brother speak to her in her mind. He told her to go on and survive, to keep their family's bloodline going. As much as she didn't want to leave her brother, the one she loved and cared about dearly, she mustered up the strength to get up and search for a new home.
She lived on her own for a year before settling on a nice and open beach. She lived their for the rest of her life and grew into a strong, adult Spino. She found a mate, but quickly came to realize he was a brute and only wanted to have children with her.
She tried to stand up to him, and that is how she got the scars on her tail and on her sail. Not long after that, she fled from him, making sure he could never find her again. She has been living alone since then.

Phantom: Shy, sounds a lot like me. And scars...we both seem to have a painful past.
