Bronx is one lucky beastman. He's genetically designed to be a monster of muscle: strength and agility are always at prime levels, and he has the good fortune to have learned how to think instead of what to think: he's moral, courageous, and invests his time as a superhero for the betterment of society.
But he isn't without his own interests, and there's often occasions when his superhero life-style comes into conflict with his personal vices. With the good sense to place others ahead of himself, he makes the right decision in the end, yet when opportunity arises, he can often satisfy both of his desires without conflict.
Such as his encounter with a hulking furless-gorilla mutant known as Apex. A name, a description, and a pun, Ape X is the label applied to a genetic modification experiment similar to Bronx's own origins: the result being the rampaging monster of muscle and physical power that the Bronx encountered on patrol, and managed to subdue. Within the Barrow Correctional Facility, Apex had eventually calmed down and been debriefed following his escape of the facility he had been held in. When Bronx arrived to voluntarily interview him, the two found themselves sharing similar interests, which led to a confidential rendezvous within Apex's holding cell.
