Greece was neutral during the war until 1917 after it's brief national schism it pushed back the Bulgarian forces from it's future lands, which was able to gain the territory once Bulgaria sued for peace. By the 1930's the Greek economy suffered the longest recession of any advanced capitalist economy to date, overtaking the US Great Depression. As a result, the Greek political system has been upended, social exclusion increased, and hundreds of thousands of well-educated Greeks have left the country. Which even surpassed the US depression status. Until now as Italy had occupied Albania in 39 and with a future Italian ultimatum Greece is certainly in a pickle.
