Sometimes it nice to have a therapeutic cry. (At the end of your favorite cartoon or after a hard week)
Sometimes it just what you need to fell better..
I literally could not get the ref for this without crying.. my heart.. It's literally my favorite cartoon.
(I know there other good animated series, but I have never felt more accepted and seen in any other show, I never had a show with lesbians as main cast, of with body types and ranges and personality, A show that focused more on emotional complexity and more then logical. I felt seen for once. I don't think there be anything like it. I'm going to miss it a lot ..)

Man that ending got me good, I cried for like an hour. I'm going to miss all the music and the characters <3 Excited to see what Rebecca Sugar works on in the future.
Same here. It means so much to me, It's a hyper fixation for me but also something I hold dear..
I mean the hole discussion on metal illness also got to me in a real way...
(much like Steven transformation needing his family there to snap him out of it, I had a similar experience with panic attacks where it took a family member fiscally there to help me out of it. It didn't fix, it but it stopped it from escalating. I think they capture that pain and panic and frustration via monster crying out for help in a way that hit really close to home)
I want the crewniverse to have a break they deserve it, but I do want to see more from these creators.

Aw wow this is so beautiful and I love this show. This is so wonderful! I will try to check out this season at some point.
I'm sorry to have spoiled it for you. I cant recommend it enough.
It sucks that all good things have to end, but it was a good send off
Yeah I have, I love it. and the comics are good too.
(Avatar among my favorites though for different reasons the story telling and world building are great, Where as SU I connect with more emotionally. Avatar is technically better better more constant animation and story but I think the felling of belonging I fell with Steven universes with being represented not just in the background or offhandedly in a way they could censor us out. but front and centered. It matters to me.
Sorry for the spoiler,
(It dose take a bit for it to find it footing as they were figuring out what it was and fighting to have a long narrative wile the studio was fighting for episodic and it shows in the early episodes but if you like the setting you probably enjoy it anyways. it's not perfect but I love it.)

We re-watched the series in time for the movie last year. I've greatly appreciated the way ostensibly kids' animation has been willing to weave more mature plots into the work, rather than pure frivolity puncuated by nods to the adults. Sure, I love Bugs Bunny, but it's nice to have shows be intrinsically interesting to wider audiences.
Avatar, Korra, Clone Wars, Rebels, SU, Troll Hunters, Dragon Prince, ...
Still need to read the ATLA and Korra comics. I did buy them after all.

I agree I grew up with dark fantasy movies like dark crystal and labyrinth etc wich were still considered pg, now pg 13 is the norm for most kids tv.. kinda unnecessarily if you ask me, kids can take in more then just baby fluff.
I am thankful for the Avatar, Steven universe, gravity falls, dragon prince, and others for pushing what they could do with ether sensitive or dark plot lines or representation that been previously hidden. so I agree with that.
I mean I love animation in general so classic still appeal to me too, but I wonder what would have changed if I had good representation earlier on. I love what these new creators are doing with animation medium. (If something like SU can help young people see the beauty in them self's or not see them self's as "other", I think it fantastic. Maybe with enough good repatriation It could help kill whatever homophobia and pointless fear tactics still left over.. It wont ever be fixed but maybe it be better.)
That and I'm not really a fan of crass comedy where most of the adult animation ends up. There been a few exceptions recently that been profound and emotional.. but I still prefer animation for all ages. It just nice to have story's with a optimistic outlook, with good messages, with likable characters. I think those themes are good for anyone to have. besides art shouldn't be limited.

.. And we finally binged SU: Future last night. :)
When we're done with the MASH binge, I'm going to vote for rewatching SW Rebels. Having just finished Clone Wars S7, I need some more Ahsoka and Kanan.
