I've always preferred warm kitchens done in wood and gold tones to cold ones done in steel, and white.
I'm the same, mostly due to my mother having the same preferences.
My mom's kitchen was gold and wood, but her mom's was white and steel. I hated it. Reminded me of the inside of a refrigerator.
