Originally posted to my old account in June of 2014, this was a traditional piece I did for my drawing class in my spring semester of college the prior year (SUNY Albany, 2013). We spent the semester studying Giacommetti and finished up with another artist (whose name I"ve forgotten, sorry XD) as well as (for me anyway at the insistence of my teacher) abstraction (apparently I"m good at it, LOL! XP) and in the end I drew inspiration from all three styles to create a style of my own that went over VERY well! :D This is actually my favorite piece from the entire class (thankfully this one didn"t get stolen; the other one I was asked to display was and I"m pretty upset about it since I never even got to take a photo of it for my portfolio) so I wanted to share it with you guys! I hope you like it! :D
Please forgive the glare spots; this piece was on display in an art show and I had it matted and framed for the occasion (frame not shown here; I couldn"t get a good photo of the art if I pulled the camera back far enough to include it).
Charcoal and pastels on 19"x25" Canson Mi-teintes drawing paper.
