There are Fossegrims - the Scandinavian water spirits, who play the violin and look like beautiful blonde man, but also can shapeshift into horse, bull or fish.
Then there are Scottish kelpies and Scandinavian Bäckahäst aka brook horses, who are basically horses who drawn people.
AND THEN there is an amazing game Year Walk, which is based on Scandinavian folklore and where the brook horse is a horse in a suit collecting souls of babies.

One day I was thinking about my personal story and it's lore, and suddenly these 3 things collapsed into this fella. He is a river spirit, quite handsome and with a deep velvet voice, who plays violin and really dislikes when people throw rocks into his river. He doesn't have a name yet but already got his own storyline.
ALSO
According to some articles, Fossegrim can teach you the violin in exchange for stolen lamb ham. There are also soul-trade or sacrifice options, but I personally love the ham version, especially this specification about it being stolen "from the neighboring farm" x)
