Many years ago, when I was in New Zealand, I tried Canyoning for the first time. It's an absolutely incredible sport that is a lot of fun - in particular if you also love waterfalls like I do. I also used that opportunity to overcome my fear of jumping from heights into water that haunted me since elementary school. But that's another story...

It was almost exactly 11 years ago when I did this first canyoning trip. I still like to think back to that adventure
What can I say - it only gets worse, since there is a third version. Although I have to say that my reference photos didn't really show the details of the belay and abseil device. At least I clearly marked the picture as NSFW

My daughter enjoys doing the rock wall at the Science Center here and once I feel like my chest is in better shape I'll give it a try again. The ropes course though is no problem for me. That's as close to rappelling as I get these days.

Sounds fun And it's good to stay on top of things even with simple training like that
And it is amazing at how good it feels to do it too! It blows my mind how easy and how foolish it is to just sit around playing games or watching TV all the time. I should just naturally get out and do stuff like this, not have to make myself go.

I'm finally back at the gym two to three times a week now. Need to build up my regimen. Once Spring comes I need to get back to the bike trail!
