The uni-drake blinked a few times, staring at her partner as they sat out on an open field, stars shining over the sky with a full moon cascading above, a good many, many years ahead of the current time.
"Start...over?"
she asked, head tilting a bit as the crystal drake next to her nodded, a rather soft yet determined look in her eyes
"Yes, start over, start fresh" she stated plainly, the kirin once again giving her a confused bewildered look
"W-what do you mean by start over? like somewhere new, somewhere fresh? I thought you liked it here?!?" she asked even more confused, but the dragoness just looked up at her with a smile, a rather, soft smile, and she chuckled
"I do, and that is the point." she said quietly, holding up a finger before Blix could retort more, breathing in a bit as she explained
"I've loved it here, more than you can possibly know, not just you, though you’re a big part of it" she snickered with a wink and the crystal kirin went flush for a moment and neighed "but the atmosphere, the world, your friends, all of it. It feels so...so young, so moldable, so… so pure." Miirrym blinked a few times, smirking a bit at the word and looking back now into the kirins eyes "I want to start over. I want my world to be like this. I want to meet you, not as a broken callous killer, with centuries behind her that she'd rather forget, but...maybe as a hunter, a manipulator of ice and fire…." she snickered a bit, but Blix still looked rather confused, grasping at her hand and holding it, looking at her
"B-but… But isn't this, isn't this enough?" she asked, and Miirrym looked at her, really looked at her, and saw the tears welling up in the kirin’s eyes. The crystal drake wilted a little, and pulled the kirin close, hugging her and rubbing her softly as she murred quietly.
“You know it is Blix, you know it is, but, you of all people know the history I have. As much as this time with you has been a blessing, it is but a blip within the massive expanse of my life. So many...many things have happened before this, so much, I have learned so much, absorbed so much. I just….” she pulled the kirins head away, looking into her eyes with a bit of her own choked up smile “I want my world to have the same chance yours did, yours does. I want to look back on it and be happy I came from there. I want to give back what I stole away.”
“B-but, why should you!” Blixtin blurted out, taking Miirrym aback a little. “Just because they wanted to use and abuse you, just because they brought about their own destruction, why does that mean YOU have to sacrifice all this?!?” Blixtin stated, her face flush with tears now as she let go for a moment to let her arms push out to display the space around them. The crystal tree behind them on the hill overlooking the field, Blixtins own form glistening in the moonlight as she huffed and whinnied a bit. After a few moments of staring the kirin falls back into her, clutching the crystal dragon tightly as she finally states,
“Why do they deserve a second chance but you have to give up yours…”
Miirrym was rather surprised at the kirins outburst, the dragon unsure what exactly to do besides feel another ping of affection and caring within the depths of her heart. Her eyes softened, as she felt Blix pressing herself into her, trying to clutch her tighter and tighter as they embraced. The crystal dragon still not heavily accustomed to this no matter how long she’d spent with this affectionate uni-drake...even with the pings of love she knew she felt.
She brushed a hand through Blix’s hair, feeling it flow around her fingers as she just smiled and sighed.
“You know why...why should an entire world have to die just so that someone, something, like me should live? And not, even really live...just exist, for so many years, before I finally got lucky in finding you…” She pulled the emotional Kirin away from her a bit, holding her shoulders as she looked her in the eyes.
“Why should all the good, better people that had a chance to be born, be snuffed out just so I can eventually make it here?”
Blixtin wanted to retort again, she wanted to so badly. But as she looked into Miirrym’s eyes, she could see it. She could see it better than anyone else. The years, the decades, the millenia, maybe more. All the time she had to spend just, being alone, but without even a good thought to think in her head. That crushing feeling brought on not just from loneliness, but from knowing exactly why you're alone. Not just choosing to be, but having done so many things in your life that would be considered heinous, that you feel you deserve to be.
And she knew then, that she wasn’t going to convince Miirrym against this. Blixtin might have spent what felt like near her entire life with this dragon by now, but Miirrym? She had so many more life times behind her filled with pain and regret. So many more events than Blixtin could probably even fathom at this point that she wishes she could change. If anyone could understand that, it was the one person that had just spent the last years of her life pulling those stories out of her, talking with her and helping her come to terms with them.
But even if she had...if she...if they...had the power to change it...shouldn’t they?
“But what about… us?” Blixtin finally said, staring deep into Miirryms eyes. The crystal dragon blinking, staring at her again, with her look softening, as she sighed and pulled her in to embrace her once again.
“If you're worried about us forgetting all of this….I would never want that.” Miirrym said softly, brushing her hair again as she pressed herself close to the kirin.
“This has been the only time in my life that I have been, really, truly happy...While a new life wouldn’t exactly support us both having these memories fully...I wouldn’t feel right letting them just vanish. I was thinking...they’d all be like a dream. Have this be what I’ve felt it to be for all these years, the most precious and lucid of dreams...one we’d be able to hold onto, but wouldn’t let dictate our lives.”
“I...but what if I want it too?” Blixtin asked, Miirrym once again taken aback a little, but sighed once more, rubbing the uni-drake’s hair still with her fingers as she pulled her away once more, waiting until the kirin looked into her eyes again as she smiled.
“Trust me love, with the lives we are going to lead after this...holding on to these feelings will only do to you what I’ve already done to myself...I can not let you do that to yourself…” She said, with Blixtin just staring up at her, blinking as the crystal dragon continued. “You deserve a good, happy life with those here. You deserve to live your own path if ‘the new me’ isn’t ready by this point to give you a chance.” Miirrym gave her a bit more of a smile, Blixtin grunting, and looking away again. She brought one hand up to one of Miirryms, pressing it atop it, and rubbing the scales softly between her fingers.
“Your right...I-I know you're right but….” Blixtin trailed off, the thing still eating away at her she already had the answer too. Miirrym sighing, before pulling her back into the embrace as she rubbed her back softly.
“It’s ok...I wasn’t really sure if you’d be ok with this, even if I explained myself. I’m just...I guess you can say, I’m tired…” Miirrym trailed off after that, but Blixtin understood. She’d understood for a while now, as the years had gone on. How the love they’d felt, while strong and ever burning, was something that Miirrym still couldn’t, quite grasp. No matter how much they talked, and how much she showed her affections, Miirrym, always seemed slightly, ‘further away’, is a good way to put it. They both shared nights of passion and days of affection and joy, but even she could tell. Miirrym just had too much time...and she got the feeling that this had been a goal of hers for many many millennia…
And that Blixtin, being the ‘mana battery’ she was...had become the perfect catalyst to actually achieve that goal. And well…
Every part of her wanted to scream at her, to yell at her, to be angry with her. But...she couldn’t bring herself to. Every time she tried she’d look up at those eyes of hers, she’d see the pain in them, the sorrow, the loneliness. Even with all the years they’d spent together, she’d spent training by her side, she’d only ever seen flickers within those eyes of anything more. Miirrym had just, too much, in her past. To many years, and to much heart ache. They both loved one another, but Miirrym, just had, to many within her past that gave up everything for her. Blixtin, as ‘different’ as she was being part crystal dragon herself, wasn’t all that different either. Just another person that Miirrym was afraid of pulling in too deep...and dragging down with her.
Even though they’d talked about this time and time again...she knew it would take millenia more talks before she’d be able to make any actual headway. And by then...Miirrym probably would have found a way to do this herself. At least, like this...Blixtin could, and would, be a part of it. She could shape it just as much as Miirrym, and at least with that...maybe someday, in the far off future, they’d be able to have something like this again.
“O-ok…” Blixtin finally said, with Miirrym blinking a few times.
“Ok?” Miirrym repeated, a bit, surprised.
“Ok.” Blixtin said again, looking back up into Miirryms eyes. “I’ll help...I’ve come with you this far, I don’t want this to be what breaks us apart.”
“A-are you sure?!?” Miirrym asked, her head tilted a bit but with flickers of life behind her eyes. “You don’t have to, I can figure something else out, I don’t want to force this upon you.”
“It’s ok.” Blixtin stated, whipping at her eyes as she gave her a soft smile. “I might not, fully understand why you want to do this...but, at the same time, I have probably the best idea of anyone. And while every part of me wants to scream at you once again about how you're worth more...at the same time, you deserve to feel that for yourself, if even for just a few hundred years.” Blixtin stated, Miirrym blinking a few more times, before it was her turn to begin to choke up a little, a rare blush forming on her face, with tears forming in her eyes.
“I-I...I don’t know what to say…” Miirrym stammered softly, but Blixtin just kept up her smile, and leaned in close to her, holding her softly for a few moments, before looking up into the crystal dragon's eyes.
“I love you Miirrym…” Blixtin finally said, tears streaming down her face with the crystal’s upon the uni-drake flaring up, as Miirym looked at Blixtin, and nodded. She wrapped her wings around them both, with Blixtin doing the same, Miirrym’s crystals igniting with energy as well, coating them both in a vibrante light as tears fell down Miirryms cheeks to, and they both collected their energy together, as they leaned in close, softly nuzzling one another, before Miirrym finally said.
“I love you to Blixtin…”
And as they kissed, their energy expanded, wrapping them both in a blinding white, blue and gold light. Before the world, the universe, and bits of the multiverse, flashed, and a final echo cascaded throughout the blinding space, the echo, of a very emotional kirin.
“And I always will…”
Blixtin’s eyes fluttered open, her body stretchinggggg as she looked out the window of the guild hall. She gave a bit of a grunt at the look of the sun, huffing at it as he leaned up from her bed into a sitting position.
“Ahh dang it, another sunny day...well it should make whatever Shade’s planing to do a bit easier today, wanted to show us all ‘his world’ or something…” she muttered, before the feeling of something damp could be felt against her cheek. The Kirin let her hand rub against it, and as she felt it, she could feel the tears pressed against her fur.
“What the-?” she muttered, before her eyes widened for a moment. Flashes, bits and pieces, various images flowing through her head. And she groaned, more tears welling up in her eyes for a moment, before it all seemed to conclude as rapidly as it had come. She rubbed at her eyes again, huffing a little, before looking out at the sunny day once more.
“What...a strange yet...fantastic dream…” She muttered to herself…
With her hand, clutching at the fur in the middle of her chest.
[Explanation of slightly altered timeline events]
It begins where it began before, in a grand skyscraper filled city of Shades world, with a very frightened Kirin almost blowing her top after a failed teleport sent her smack dab into the middle of it. She could hardly hope to understand what was around her but Miirrym was there to stop her from imploding, sensing her distress and helping her calm down. Them having a good time, Blix still astonished by both Miirrym’s forms along with her shapeshifting abilities. It then being time for Miirrym to do another phasewalk (her new form of plain hopping that takes many years to prepare!) her taking Blix on a whim just because of something she felt within her (the two believing later that it likely had to do with the ancient crystal dragon blood laying dormant within Blix’s veins).
She jumps them to Miirrval, the events going as normal, them heading down into a cave with her, have fun with ACTS and chasing after some bratty kids, then ending at a mana font in the base of the underground, camping out and talking about their past lives and experiences along the way. The only main difference being with more fire and ice thrown around from Miirrym, and a lot more chipper of a mood coming from her, being rather happy to find another version of herself in the multiverse! Miirrym tries to work with Miirval to understand her own magic a bit better, but finds the crystal magic to not be incredibly helpful to her, outside of making it a bit more clear where her origins might lie. The dark presence attacks, it being a remnant from Miirrval's past now instead of Miirryms, and Miirrval taking a hit for them both before banishing it with all her strength, showing the two she was actually powerful but now her light was fading from the outburst, her using to much of her energy and very likely to fade away do to consuming all of her mana. But this time as they both work to try and infuse Miirrval with mana to survive, they use one of her golden crystals (the one that would have normally been given to Blixtin), and in a flash Blix manifests her true uni-drake form with all the built up emotion, and the crystal acting as the catalyst along with Miirym, the crystal forming the opal on her chest with a bit of Miirrym’s magic infused within it as well. Blixtin then uses Miirrym's and Miirrval's planer connection along with mana from the font to restore Miirrval back to health. Miirrval was overjoyed to find the true bearer of the crystal, feeling Blix was 'meant to have it'. Miirrval then gladly uses the infused mana to planeshift them both back to their previous plane.
Miirrym at this point pointed out how long it would have taken her to get up the strength to do it again herself, prompting an outburst from Blix on why she took her without telling her she might be stuck there for a while! But they both laugh it off as the experience was more than worth it, Blix telling her to come by the mansion some time, the guild could use someone like here in its ranks.
Miirrym decides to head to the mansion partly do to Blix, but mostly to see if Shade can help her at all in understanding her magic and origins as well, Shades magic also being much different than hers in how its implemented, using the magic of the plains themselves combined with runic magic to shift between them instead of one's own reserves like Miirrym, so sadly she didn’t learn much outside of there being different ways to planeshift. But Blix by this point has gained a decent handle on her new form and abilities, so she decides to tag along with her to Blix's world, as they seem to be 'cut from the same cloth' so to speak, at least she sees a resemblance in Blix’s form that is rather close to her own.
So when they head over to Blix's world, Miirrym gets the layout of the land along with how the guild works from Blix, then she heads off, finding her old home from a previous phasewalk in the woods and deciding to stay a bit longer in this world, she has to recharge her power now after all. She does a few odd jobs for the guild and Blix tags along with a few of them, and so she begins to form a connection with her. It wasn’t a massive one, as they both tended to see each other more as friends, at least Blixtin anyway. They had one eventful evening after doing a particularly dangerous quest in the far off mountains, the two forced to spend a night together in Miirrym’s abode thanks to Blixtin being there to thank her when a blizzard hit. They ended up spending the evening with Blix acting on a few deep rooted feelings of hers, but after the fact, the two went their separate ways.
Blix hopes to see Miirrym some time again, but it turns out that the ‘night of passion’ ended up having a secondary effect on Miirrym, giving her her planer shift back a lot faster. She took that opportunity to then pop away to yet another plane, leaving Miirrym confused and a bit hurt when she found her home abandoned. But, She brushed it off herself and continued with her life, hoping one day to maybe kindle more of a proper friendship with the crystal dragon again, but resolving to let her do what she wants to do.
And that is how the two eventually break away to go toward their own separate goals within this new timeline, the two still remember a very lucid dream that seemed so real between them both, that likely being the catalyst between how Miirrym treated Blix initially and how they both continued to work together. But despite all that, Miirrym being the antisocial crystal dragon she is, still decided it best to move on before the repeated experiences got them both to be too attached. All Blixtin knows is that her nights ever since have been filled with rather pleasant dreams, some of a city that for some reason she felt should be in ruins, but was instead bustling and prosperous. Of a world filled with life that she felt hadn’t been before. And of rather, happy, loving feelings, that would leave her with a sense of warmth every time she awoke.
And while the events of the dreams would always escape her, for her, the warmth itself, felt like enough.

AAAlrighty, this is an updated story I did for TooTaDooT to help tie up some loose ends when it comes to our characters. The two of use had a delightful time together doing various rp's for quite a long while, but, as time has worn on he's started to get a bit burnt out when it comes down to it. He still likes exploring characters and thinking up stories, but doing in depth rp has started to become more of a chore for him than a fun excursion. Which, considering he's now pushing 11 years at it with failed group rp after failed group rp coming his way, I can understand that quite a bit x3
That coupled with what was placed in this text box before, about how Miirrym herself had kinda hit 'the end of her development' and had nowhere else to go, lead to the decision for use to start things off fresh. We got a bit of a ways into an rp with the new Miirrym, but that happened a while ago, and the whole 'rp fatigue' hit him after a long pause from that rp do to yet another poke rp server of his failing. As such, we figured for the moment it would be best for use to, instead of just doing a soft reboot, make it much more of a hard one.
Both these characters still keep their memories, as has been stated, because neither of use want to completely forget what all has happened, cause it was still super fun. But, we also wanted to make it so that the characters would be able to explore their own stories for a time, so we broke off the reboot, as them still remembering the events as a form of really potent lucid dream. They then have there 'current timeline' events occur, before Miirrym, being just who she is, jumps ship before things get to heated. This allows for a much cleaner cut off point, and lets us both rest on the story, and more importantly lets him fully focus on whatever he plans to do, even if that happens to be nothing at all for a time, without me and subsequently Blixtin left wondering what all has happened.
I've kinda been continuing her story so far like that already, but having the story be like this, instead of like what I had before, just fits a lot better to me. The 'it was all a dream' thing can be a bit contrived, but it lets use keep all we had, while still pushing forward toward the future with no regrets.
And it lets my emotional ass have some closure on the whole matter xD
So, I hope you like this re-write! I know I enjoyed writing it even if it made me tear up a lot ; 3 ; I liked expanding upon what I had before and getting to have a true, emotional ending to all this. I feel it fits, and I hope it's enjoyable to all of you. Still couldn't be happier with the journey I was able to play out with these two with him, and I know I'll remember it fondly for years and years to come.
I hope we get to do something later down the line, but if not, I am happy with this. In the meantime, will still happily keep in touch and try and line up our schedules to do some lovely gaming sessions >3< heheeh.
Miirrym and the mentioned Miirrval goes to TooTaDooT
Blixtin is mine!
One other thing I wanted to put down here, is that this 'refresh' had one other wide reaching effect, and that would be in the way of Molly. The intent of this was to allow us both to break away and let him fully have time to himself and his own ideas without either of use feeling tied down with either of our characters moving forward, and while Bulda can leave Rei on Alola with their vacation, and Cheryl being Shades student can be left ambiguous as to how that really goes, Molly and Veneca where a lot more, connected. They where the first two we had really 'connect', and while we didn't really do much with them after that, the whole experience was still important. But do to that experience being very heavily 'spur of the moment', I think how I'm going to end it is this.
Veneca is going to go to her week long vacation with Em, having that emotional beat resonate with them both, before she then heads back to the shared temp house that her and Molly where staying at. They had only known each other a few weeks by that point (we only ever rp'd out a day, we just moved really fast xD), the passion was high and she was excited to get back to it. But as she flew down a white flash overtook Ven's eyes, and she got a bit confused for a moment. She'd head back inside, calling out for Molly, but getting no response. She'd figure she was probably just out running and errand, and go up to their room, only to find the collar that she had bought her sitting there, with a note. She'd open it up, read it, and get slightly confused, it stating how 'her past came to find her, she was sorry she couldn't say goodbye, but she thanks her for the brief time they shared, and she was happy to be able to call her mistress.' Veneca would clutch the note in her hand, burst into tears, and collapse onto the bed, almost igniting in flames in a fit or rage, but quickly pushing past that to just fits of sorrow. For whatever reason, she knew, from some gut feeling, that this meant she'd likely never see her again. She wanted to go out looking for her, but, something within her told her it was pointless...But as she let the emotions run there course, she'd eventually wipe her eyes, stare down at the collar once again, and then place it on the nightstand with the note.
Before walking out from the small home, her hair alighting with fire, before she set the entire house ablaze. And she'd look up at the sky as it all burned and came crashing down, sighing, after letting out that final outburst. And just hopping that where-ever she was now, she was happy. She then worked to move on, as once again, something within her, told her she should.
