I spent so long on this scratchboard stuff I'm posting it everywhere. I don't even care, man. There's only one human pictured anyway.
"The King and his counselors waited for some chieftain or king to step forward. The ranks of the Daoine Sidhe parted and someone appeared.
He was rather less than fifteen years old.
...The chronicler, Orderic Vitalis, writing some thirty years later, describes the shock felt by King Henry's court when they saw, in the midst of all these important proceedings, a Sidhe warrior lean across and begin solicitously plucking lice out of the boy's filthy hair."
--"Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell" by Susanna Clarke: a truly sexyfine book that can also be used as a doorstop or bludgeon.

It's beautiful... Almost looks like an ancient woodblock print. Apart from that I'm stunned, speechless!
Thank you! I love the look of woodblocks and steel engravings, and they work great when you want to evoke an old-fashioned or medieval feel. Unfortunately I don't have access to those kinds of materials, but it seemed like scratchboard might be a cheap alternative to produce that kind of style.
Yeah, woodblocks must be expensive (especially learning how, imagine all the wood you'll need just to get the hang of it!), I doubt anyone uses wood any-more, right?
That raven hair didn't hit me until I was looking for a little longer, very cool!
Oh my. Scratchboard is a cruel mistress; it's delightful seeing what you were able to do with it!
Holy shit. Look at this fuck shit. Shiiiiiiiiiiiit.
I cannot come up with a better comment. :C
