Well, the latest episode ruined it for me. They couldn't let Guzma reach the finals. No, they had to make him lose in the semi finals, and against a trainer who takes forever to realize that an electric Pikachu has attacks other than Iron Tail when facing an electricity-vulnerable, water-bug pokemon. While a trainer like Guzma strategically tells his water-bug to use poison attacks repeatedly against a poison-vulnerable, water-fairy pokemon in the quarter finals.

And then in the semi finals, Guzma didn't even use the powerful, first-hit, 100% accuracy First Impression attack ONCE when he had a total of THREE chances to do so, when you think about it. Guzma's one nasty signature move. The script writers suddenly give all that the middle finger. Why.

I get friendship/teamwork lessons but this kind of message execution is bullshit. You can't give me legit efficient battle strategies and then make it all completely insignificant when fighting against a main protagonist. This is like Dschingis Khan losing to a half-comatosed dog who's Instagram-famous because the power of cutesy friendship is all you need to win.

I'm upset, so here are some Guzma sketches and me pretending he made it to the finals. Either he becomes champion and proves you can also be the strongest if self-taught doing your own thing, or he loses against someone even more brutal and cunning than him. Like surprise guest Giovanni with mega Mewtwo or some shit. Make everything more epic!

Nintendo, make this battle happen somehow. Giovanni offers Team Rocket membership and Guzma says solo mode is great and then they battle. And then they eat spaghetti together. And then talk about what makes a gangster boss and what makes a gangsta boss.

For example, Giovanni brags about achievements like the creation of Mewtwo, owning a casino, speeding up the production of masterballs... and Guzma talks about that one time Team Skull almost managed to steal a bus stop sign. The rest of the conversation would just be facial expressions and silence. Followed by Giovanni finally leaving the restaurant. And Guzma ordering like ten pizzas for his pokemon team, telling the waiter to send the bill to Giovanni because they're buddies now.

Yes, this is all officially canon in my head now and you can't change it.

Though I must admit, the good part about the official episode was Team Skull's reaction upon Guzma's defeat. This kind of friendship message I can welcome with open arms! Just kinda wish it happened after the finals, not semi finals already.
