I finally went ahead and made some concrete designs for how I want Fen to look from here on out. I wanted to go ahead and try to make her look a bit more unique than normal dragons would be, so I made her a crossbreed between a traditional red dragon and a coatl(winged serpents from Latin American). the more slim design means that I don't have to draw armored scales or a lot of muscles. The feathers are also something to get the whole idea of a dragon away from being just a lizard with wings.
Of course, Fen also breathes fire in addition to her being able to immolate her whole body like the Human Torch. As far as the wing design is concerned, I wanted to make it look more like a bird's wings. With limited pics on that angle, I went with scaly wings that have the layered effect to them. I might put designs on the cloth she wears or not.

That's an interesting idea, I would have never though of mixing a dragon and a coatl. I will have to say that makes her quite unique.
Thanks. Looked for something that would have seemed feminine without going to a fantasy creature that wasn't outside of the mythological territory of a dragon, not to mention on the same level physically size and shape-wise.
That makes sense. The only other dragon or dragon like species you could have used would have been eastern dragons but they arent exactly feminine looking so it all worked out in the end.
Ooh hey, I like that design! It's interesting, and she looks formidable yet admirable. Plus I love that upper right sketch of her charging/attacking. Gives her a real sense of character and power.
Well done!
