“Do yourself a favor little morsel, and save the struggling for later. I do mean it, try to escape and I'll be forced to hurt you. I don't mind so much either way, I wouldn't object to getting a taste of your blood. But I want to enjoy your squirming for as long as possible, and for that I need you in one piece.”
Back in 2012 I wrote a story about an unfortunate teen who found himself the focus of a hungry gryphon. Eventually it evolved into include actual vore, though it didn't for a long while. That story ended up being 100k words, and went unfinished.
When I created this account, I intended to turn the story into a comic, but when I started to design the characters, I was unhappy with my gryphon drawing skills, and opted to turn the pred character into something more canine. And thus Mort was born. But gryphons were always on the back of my mind, and if it isn't clear how that turned out, you haven't looked through my gallery. lol
I've been reworking the original story to include all of the parts I cut from the Down the Hatch script, because I liked and enjoyed them, but most of them didn't translate well to the new characters or were best left in written form. I intend to share it sometime soon, but until then, I may just draw some of the scenes... I'm about 1000xs more fussy about my writing than my art (and if you know me, you know how fussy I am about my art. | D )
Much as I want to give Nyra her own comic, I made her design too complicated to draw as constantly as a comic would require. |D
The human character here is Finn. A certain Nomfox started calling him Finn the Human which is hilariously appropriate since he's like the only human in a magical world. I tried to rename him to avoid confusion for about 2 months but nothing I tried fit. Oh well... He's basically a slightly less pathetic Noah (they basically started as the same character). The differences between them are subtle but I've been working to make him more unique in my rewrite.
I've been working on this as a relaxation piece for monnnths now, so I'm sure between Patreon, Discord and the streams I did of it, I think a lot of people saw WIPs and it was really hard to hold back on uploading it. ^^''
I seriously debated doing the speech bubble for this, since I was imagining it in less of a comic style, but... I decided to add it since for one, I couldn't post this to Patreon, and I don't like the Google Drive comments very much, and also, I assume people would download it, and why not make sure the original text is actually in the image.... meh.

I love this comic and hope you get around to making your full story at some point
Super glad you like it! :D I'll definitely share it when I do~
Ohhhh this is fun looking. He gonna get ate!
But gosh that maw in the last one

It's dialogue like this that makes me think that Nyra's the one that's likely to get hip to my weird internal massage idea, rather than a frump like Mort.
But ultimately, creator's choice there!

Dialogue greatly enhances vore in general I think. Pred/prey interactions are just perfect.
Well, Nyra is a sadistic f*cker, but the fun thing is that she doesn't MEAN to be. To her, this is mercy. Blue and Orange Morality, to cite a trope.
Mort would just dismember the fool and eat the pieces while he watched.

Blue and Orange morality... now that is something I have never heard about before. Interesting...
It's one of the TVTropes tropes. The long and short of it is that it represents morality that follows a completely alien value system, one that defies human notions of good and evil.
In Nyra's case, she's a base predator. Killing is simply how she makes her living, and empathizing with prey is a good way to starve to death. In her mind, allowing prey to live a little longer inside of her and pass away painlessly beats being dismembered or disemboweled alive. In return, she harvests struggles. From our perspective, it's sadistic and evil. From her perspective, it's just how she makes her living.
(Of course, the fastest and most painless death is a neck bite, which is how most birds of prey actually dispatch their catch. A severed spine means said prey can't resist, can't feel, and most importantly can't damage you, and death is quick. But Nyra wants a meal AND a massage, and dead prey isn't any fun).

Wow, I can't wait to read the story. As someone who is *also* writing a 100k word story that's not finished I feel your pain with the editing and obsessing!
Nyra is such a beautiful and seductive looking predator. I love the menacing first panel.

Really it doesn't matter to the prey. They die in the end either way. No, it's mostly just a minor effect on the impact they leave behind.
...Well, unless they don't stay dead. Then it matters a lot. (Also, ouch.)

In Nyra's case, it matters insomuch as how much pain the prey suffers in departing this world (and how much risk they pose to the predator during the eating process). What Nyra offers is a few more minutes of life and a painless passing, vs. getting mauled, dismembered and/or disemboweled to death. She thinks she is being merciful, and the pleasure of the struggles are just a fair trade.
Predators have very, very different morality than we do. But then, Nyra would probably suggest that we're cowards and hypocrites; we eat meat, but let others do the killing for us.

I wasn't planning on it, but this got a pretty warm reception, so I might!
Wait, you can do comments on the Drive stuff? Huh. Learn something new.
Another passion project that you've been working on for years? This is gonna be good!

The unloader can, I don't know if anyone else can.
I hope so!

Just... augh. I cannot speak for my adoration of this. Everything is straight outta my dreams. The size difference, the grasping with claws, the intimate closeness, the slathering licks, the almost-tender pet names, the playful taunting, the terrible intensity of an avian gaze, the smile which only a bird can have, the looming presence, the pressing into soft feathers, the sheer terror in Finn's face, the slowness apparent in how long she's taking to toy with him, the yawning maw, the glisten of saliva assuring him of its heat and wetness, the sheer domination...
Ahem. Sorry. Like I said, EVERYTHING. I love it. Well done. Fantastic work.

Om my goodness...just yes. I've been totally crushing on Nyra for a while this only makes it worse! (at least I assume this is what it feels like, as an asexual I haven't had a real crush before LOL)
Anyways, the details and the size difference are amazing.
