My only advice in golf is "oh god please put me down" but no one EVER listens to that!!

Its only cheating if it's TECHNICALLY Against the rules... and/or if you get caught.
Distract with 'fluffiness', offer the ref(s) a hug and get back to the game until someone objects again.
Then again, the way I used to hit, we'd probably have to stop the game to dig out some lost pucks.
