.. Just to prove that I do actually do backgrounds sometimes! This thing had been sitting around for over a year and I desperately wanted to finish it for the longest time, but things kept getting in the way and oh, you know how it goes. Anyway, I present you with Houndoom, one of my all-time favourites and worthy of more fan art!

Houndoom is my fave as well! I just love the very eerie take on this amazing pokemon! The eye is gorgeous! And I love the bit of fire spilling from his muzzle. And those teeth are just awesome!

Well, it's as its name says isn't it; hound of doom. I got tired of seeing all the super polished doberman-like renditions of this Pokemon, so I made it a little more monstrous! Fits far better I think.
Heh, I'm guilty of the super polished Doberman renditions. ^^; I likes my realistic pokemon. XD Not that a doberman can't be fierce though. ^^;
A doberman is pretty much the definition of fierce in my book! Nothing wrong with drawing Houndoom as that breed, but it gets a little generic and boring after seeing -only- that. I wanted to explore the other side.
there are reasons as to why I name my Houndour Sabin. one of them is that sabin actually means "devil" and another is because it's so damn dark. either way, nice detail on the horns.... now we just need to see this guy use Dark Pulse

Also, may I ask you what parts you did with Corel Painter? :3 I recently got Corel Painter 11 myself and I'm interested in seeing what other peoples did with it :3
I only did the line art in Corel Painter, with the pen tool. Far superior than PS's inking action, even if you customise your brush settings.

Ah I should give that a try, I'm not really font of PS's pen tool .. thingie. It hates me Dx Thanks! :D
I never use standard pen tools, it feels like cheating and you get less control over your lines. Painter's pens are freehand.
oh I thought you meant that one! :D I always use the regular brush tool in PS, also because I think it's cheating but also because I don't know how to use it xD

Also one of my favorite Poke'mon. Absolutely fierce looking, the fire from its' mouth and the glow its eyes only adds to the look. Nice background too, I need to work on backgrounds. ;_;

I know this was posted a while ago but damn man, I love the expression, purely demonic and the embers coming from its jaws, you have real talent^^ I love the eyes especially!
You did a great job creating ferocity in this Pokemon. It seems more real than the cartoony images from the game.

First and last time I favorite anything related to Pokemon. I don't know if the neck is structured like that, but it seems a bit fleshy and it's too well defined if it has fur. But I'm really loving that moon and the symbolic clouds forming around it.
I approve heartily of the teeth, ooh. The muzzle in general is just amazing. And I think it's a nice tough, adding in the embers like that.
