many years I've suffered long
but now I see the I have a new song
I know my place in life is here
knowing all my loved ones are near

finally able to be who I am
no longer to feel like a frightened lamb
the storm has died down at last
and now I can stand and move steadfast

I know that the morning will be here soon
and the sun will greet me even in the high noon
I can die in peace and have the strength to live on
now that my last fears are finally gone

the doom and gloom of struggle are fearful
and the happiness is making my eyes tearful
the weight of the world on my shoulders has run
now I feel like I can I can enjoy the sun

knowing I'm not about to be cast away
I live freely now, it's the eternal day
I'll always remember how midnight can be
that way I'll help the people like me

I used to fear how people would act
now I know there is only one fact
that is the people always will love
the people they know are sent from above

take it from me, I've been through hell's grill
if they truly love you now, then they always will
but if they do not, then they never really knew you
because if they did, then they'd love you back too

now I can fly in my life full of hope
never again to be caged and now more will I mope
finally free from the darkness of night
finally free to live in eternal light
