I wont lie, I still don't know what I did to get them done, haven't really been able to replicate them since I finished this piece.

Well i'm glad, because honestly I really do struggle with paws, especially any digitigrade ones. Slowly getting better at it but it's a on going thing :v

He's just a dirty liar really - he knows he's STUPID efficient at drawing all means of stompers and he's just being modest about it.

But we love him for that regardless~

Just read your reply to Diablo above and it made me smile. I love the way you've drawn that front foot there, but I can't explain what it is that makes me like it so much. The profile of it, the ratio of length to width and arch to pads/toes, almost a 'character' to the posing... it has a 'je ne sais quoi' about it.

That's why your reply made me chuckle. Because it's obvious you can't quite put your finger on it either!



We need to do RESEARCH!!! Maybe there's a Golden Ratio out there for paws?

I think you're onto something there, like maybe there is a ratio or proportioning rule of thumb or something. Would explain why sometimes paws can either be passable or damn well amazing.


Also it's ok, I got that one off twitter, just be sure to use it responsibly. :v

Gentlemen, I do believe that further studying is indeed required. If there is a, "Golden Ratio/Rule" to the craftsmanship and/or art of paw spawning it would behoove us to allocate all resources to finding said formula.
