The pack had been wandering deep in the woods of Hoia Baciu Forest, their standard stomping grounds. The moon was full and bright and they needed to feed. There was a village on the edge of the woods, a village that would provide them with a delicious meal. They moved silently but with great strength, each wolf much more massive than any of the humans sleeping in their beds. The pack was struck with intrique when they came upon a little home with it's light still on. They glanced inside, this was clearly the home of a hunter, the house was littered with pelts and stuffed creatures and skulls of all kinds. But it was one particular hunting trophy that cause the entire pack to bristle their teeth. It was a paw, a sinewy fur speckled paw of a massive wolf, and wolf they had once run with. Varian.
The pack was furious, so this was the hunter that had killed their packmate! But even though furious they reacted quickly and hid in the shadows when a figure appeared to blow out the lantern lighting the home. Tonight though, the residents of this little house would never awaken again.
Fenrir slunk to the ground, he crept over to the door to the home, checking to see if it was locked. It was. Chipper, upon seeing Fenrir shake his head no, slunk around the other side, seeing if there were any windows without panes. There was, the attic window. Chipper waved the other wolves over and without a single sound, Storm lifted Nexus up to the window. Nexus was the smallest of the pack and so with just a little effort and a push she got into the window and placed her paws on the rafters. She was looking straight down into the kitchen, she quietly lowered her body down through the beams, making her way through the small home like a shadow, unlocking the front door for the other wolves to enter in through.
The pack knew that if they were to boldly hunt in the actual village, they needed to kill their victims in silence, else they'd be fighting off many a man armed with a gun. The four wolves found the bedroom and entered, smirking at the sight of the hunter and his wife. They would feast well tonight, and get revenge.
Like a flash of lightning they launched themselves on the sleeping victims, two wolves for each human, a massive paw slamming down on each of their mouth to ensure they made no noise. Nexus snarled, her claws sinking in slightly to the hunter's cheeks as her paw pressed into his mouth to muffle his screams. His wife had already begun to weep.
"Hunter! You foul creature. It was you that killed Varian! Where are his bones? Where did you kill our brother?!" She begun to ease up on the pressure of her paw on his mouth but stopped while he was still muffled. "If you dare scream your wife will be eviscerated in front of your eyes and we will eat her and force you to watch."
The Hunter stared at the pack, he was clearly both horrified and livid. When Nexus removed her hand he spat at her. "You fucking monsters, you all deserve to be shot like the animals you are. Yes I killed your wretched brother. Drove a silver crucifix through his black heart to ensure he'd go straight to hell. We did battle outside the graveyard. I wish I knew you were all so easy to kill earlier and I'd have ended your races pathetic existence! Now get this over with fiends. The town will find us and hunt you all down come morning."
"Be quiet food" snarled Fenrir as he slammed a clawed paw into the Hunter's mouth, grabbing hold of his lower jaw and yanking it off. The Hunter's wife screamed into Storm's paw. He looked down at her, snapping her neck to kill her instantly. She had done nothing wrong but she was still food. Chipper sniffed the Hunter's neck and whispered in the Hunter's ear "This is for Varian" and snapped his jaws down onto the human's weak neck, blood spurting out in all directions. All four of the wolves began to tear away the clothes and rip off chunks of flesh. They feasted on the bodies for a few hours, but not too long so they could have time to still travel back into the woods in the darkness. As they left the little house, they left the two bloody skeletons on the bed, bashing the skull of the Hunter and each wolf leaving massive claw marks on the wall over the bed. They knew the village would know it was the pack that killed them, might as well make it a clear message not to fuck with them.
As they slunk back into the woods, they headed to the river. They would walk in the river to the graveyard to ensure they left no tracks and the blood of their victims would wash away. Upon reaching the graveyard, they did not have much moonlight left and would need to head to their cave shortly. The wandered the perimeter of the graveyard until they came upon a rock with hint of a chain visible. They begun to dig around the rock and brushed the vegetation and dirt away. The rock read "HUND" and after not much digging they found the shallow grave of their fallen packmate. Seeing his skeleton enraged them. But they knew they could bring their brother back, at least in some form. They let out a mounrful howl and gathered his bones, bringing them back to their cave. They would need to get some help, but they knew that their brother would rise again...
