This one was a ton of fun - the theme I was given was Old West meets Far East, with a mischievous coyote placed in a tavern setting... It was great playing with the ambience of the room. I tried to control the palette to really convey the overall temperature and imagined humidity of the environment - and the dust drifting through the door in the background turned out to be a crucial detail, to me. I also like the katana swords with the handles stylized as old-fashioned pistol grips. A commission I did for QuickXyk, who along with his coyote character, can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/QuickXyk/

That pickpocket better watch out, cardsharks are known to wield their swordguns quite skillfully.
OMG, This is excellent! There is so much detail you put into it. And every bit of this space is used up perfectly. How long did it take you?
Ooh... I don't remember exactly, this was like months and months ago. I'd estimate it took me 16-ish hours to draw it, it took Liz at least that long to block in the colors and detailing, and then another 8-10 hours of shading and lighting. So guesstimate like a week or so.
heheh he got the little card hidden on his tail, smart guy aint he?
Looks just perfect and that expression reminds me to someone... It's just awesome work!
;)

Awesome! I love the detail in this. All the activity and depth to it. And the colours. Oh my god the colours! :D
Wow, this came out brilliantly :D Very cool ambiance, I love how you filled the scene with details of that mixed setting without making it look forced or campy. Cool smoke effects, too.
That is a very nicely detailed piece you have produced.
Very good job with the expressions, and also character positioning.
Like it quite a bit.

This is the part where I walk in and break some shit with my bare hands.

Wow, what an awesome piece ^^ You really went all-out for this, the details, poses, props and expressions are lovely. And seriously, pistol-grip swords o.o You're right, made of win
Awesome scene, love all the detail, and of course the cute main character :D
Really great work! I love the amount of detail in this piece, and how well the lively, cheerfully cheeky atmosphere is portrayed without too much deliberate detail. Plus, the expression on his face is just priceless, kind of like me when I feel like pinching a few things
Awesome!!! *reaches for fave button and topples out of chair*

Wow! What a great piece, I love the fact he is snagging a wallet with chop sticks! Great job.
That's odd. It's working on my computer currently - is it still having trouble loading for you?
Beautiful piece all around!
I confess I never considered using chopsticks in that way. I'll have to try it sometime.

some reason I feel like there was a great attempt at misdirection put into this O-o it may just be because it took me a moment to see that he was trying to steal his wallet but I was very curious as to whether or not it was intentional
I was curious if you used design techniques to misdirect the viewer's eyes from the actual event O_o
wether you did or did not this is a magnificent piece that just raises my curiosity and makes me want to know more XP

Interesting observation. Although the center of the composition, the actual wallet-grab does seem to almost fade into the background. It was a bit unintentional, but I like the effect, because it tends to emphasize the scene as a whole rather than only the main action. The focus is diminished there by the lack of value contrast - whereas other areas of the pic have more dark vrs. light contrast making them 'pop' more.
oh wow O_o that's awesome! lol it's artist like u who keep me determined to keep trying to improve my own art ^^ but yeah... this is a geniously created work if you ask me and I can't wait to see more!
effective mix of cultures O_O

Wow, I love this piece, as everyone says it's just pure awesome, I love how low dive the place looks, crowded, small, patched together, with an assortment of clientele. It's a very wonderful and well thought out.
Like always the awesomness of this work astonishes me! I am at a loss for words so I'l just stick to AWESOME! XD
You truly blew me away with this piece! Seriously, I'll treasure it always. Thanks so much!
You're very welcome, thanks again for giving me such a rich idea to work with.
lanterns out of takeout containers = brilliant brilliant brilliant
Awesome artwork, and the fact that it features a coyote is an extra
Nice look on the faces, the coyote reminds me of Jack Sparrow.
This made a gorgeous feature <3 If I had wrote the description, I would have said- I really love how there is so much going on and I can get so lost in this piece with every little element. Truly tells a story within a story- and the dynamics in relationship to the subjects is really fine tuned and interesting <3 Lovely work here!
Coyote vs. fox: an intercontinental tricksters rivalry that can only get more fun and furious with time.
heeee....
Good composition of this drawing. You caught the coyote in the act of crime!
