A small insight into the overall design process of the Guardians for "Cenotaph", in case people are interested in seeing some more sketchy things.
While we started of with bipedal postures (emerging from some poor sketches I whipped up once), we decided to take a deliberately weirder turn with the naga body as we felt we could further push the overall look into a fitting territory for an age-old machine race. While we knew we wanted to have cables in the formula in some way, many other small details we settled on for the overall look were emerging during sketching and bouncing ideas back and forth.
The silhouettes in part (II), (IV) and the ones I screwed around with in (V) were all done by lethaldoors, the rest was done by me with his input and help.

It's the overall posture we eventually went with there, so yeah! The final concept basically is that one in a more fancy fashion

That's why I decided to post this sheet so people can see we put some time into bringing this concept together - the start was fine, really, but not really what we both wanted.

My gratitude to work on this goes way past the art presented here in very different ways, so yeah, I am glad.
I'm loving every little details, poses, everything you guys did here! I'm totally in love with the final piece(s), but when I look at the other sketchy layouts, it's really hard to choose. :D Every single one has it's uniquie look. I'm so into robotic, artificial creatures and stuffs, so you guys have a fantastic imagination in the topic. Keep it up! ^^
