Fa’al Gharell is the current leader of the Fa’al Outlier tribe. Those sworn to a tribe take that name as a part of their own. She originally came from the D’vhorrah, a rival tribe. The D’vhorrah are a tribe of religious zealots counting on a prophecy to carry them back to power. Unhappy with the state of affairs in her own tribe as well as how her family treated her, Gharell defected over to the Fa’al where she thought her talents for strategy and planning would be appreciated over the D’vhorrah’s preference for brute strength.
After becoming a member of the Fa’al, Gharell received her tribal marking, a ritual everyone in the Fa’al must take part in. These tattoos (in Gharell’s case it’s the red markings under her eye) serve as an identifier for other Outliers to know that you’re part of the Fa’al.
After a few years, Gharell’s talents proved to be effective enough for the tribe to elect her as leader. She had carried them through many victories with her plans. She was also kind to those around her and cared for the well-being of her people; a far cry from the life she had back with the D’vhorrah.
Occasionally Fa’al Gharell thinks to the future. She wishes it wouldn’t have to come to this bloody battle between her former and current tribes, but she knows it to be a certainty since they share the same goal but the D’vhorrah refuse to hear about an allegiance between them. She has vowed to strike down her brother D’Ghoro herself if she needs to, as he is the leader of the D’vhorrah; the one who the prophecy foretells will rule the southern lands of Ishtharva once more.
