And now, a bit of personal art. :>
I really wanted a fancy story to go with this but my writing muse is terribly fickle, and I wasn't able to come up with anything worthy of being typed up. I also forgot all my notes and those would have been a huge help last week, so there's also that. x.x
Let me just give you the basic rundown instead. What you are seeing is a slice of Luthien's past, the part of her life that I carefully wove into the tapestry of Tolkien's Middle Earth. Lindon, Second Age, right about the time Sauron has created the One Ring and began his threat upon all peaceful races of Arda. Gil Galad, High King of Lindon, carries a heavy burden upon his shoulders, but he finds solace and a bit of council in his secret meetings in the woods with Luthien. Having grown into a woman in the forests of southern Valinor, she has sensed trouble and returned to the shores of Middle Earth to speak her warning to the King, but along the way, a bit of a romance blossomed between she and Gil Galad. They meet beneath the towering birch trees now, no eyes upon them but those of the animals and no sounds but the wind through the trees and the calls of birds high above them. Dancing to only music they hear, they can forget, for a time, the worries that plague them.
This piece, by the way, was actually sponsored! :) I tried something out that would work similar to Patreon, wherein you guys could donate money to buy me time to work on this during a day where I'd normally have to do a commission, and in return, you would get prizes related to the finished piece. I offered high-res versions, prints, and coloring sheets to those who donated, and in addition, I also streamed while I colored. That video, if you're interested, is right here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/148600485
It's only going to be up for a couple more days though, so if you'd like to see it, don't wait around too long. :o
There will be more pieces like this one in the future, so be on the lookout if this is something you think you might be interested in participating in. :)

It came out really beautifully, just a perfect mix of expressions, colours and touches. The expressions on the two is so romantic :D
I can tell you love your art with nature and fantasy. If you like fantasy Luthien, try out Elder Scrolls Online. There are great places there that has your style. And maybe Morrowind DLC too
This is beautiful! I love how the earthy greens and browns make Luthien look like one with the scenery, whereas Gil Galad's blue makes it look as though he rebels against it. I'm not sure if that fits his character; that's just what the piece says to me.
By the way, I received your email with the high-res scan. Thank you so much! It was an awesome feeling to contribute to this drawing, and I hope I'll be able to do so again, soon. Next month, perhaps? :)
By the way, I recall someone asking on the original post if a high enough sponsorship could earn the original. It's something I am still curious about. Something else that would be fun and perhaps get you more contributors would be to give the original to a random contributor, perhaps giving each a number of entries based on how many times the contributed a certain amount. For example, if the amount was $5, a $20 sponsorship would get you four entries. (Maybe that's too much like a raffle to be in line with the TOS, though, and maybe you are wanting to keep the originals of personal art.)

I'm still considering that last bit. For me, personal stuff like this is hard to part with - since I don't get to do as many pieces of my own characters, when I do I feel like I need to hoard the originals. lol Also, they are the few little pieces of my own art I get to keep for myself (as opposed to commission work which is probably 90% of what I create), so it's somewhat sentimental reasons and also because I'm never sure if I might want to use them for something later. I have this vague idea that someday I might actually get enough story bits to actually put together a full book or a collection, something along those lines.
So it's not a bad idea, I like it...I'm just kinda working it out how I can feel okay with offering the originals up. Pinups and single portraits and things like that may be easier than say something romantic or story-related. So if anything, I'll start there and see how things go.

Thanks for the thoughtful answer! :) I can certainly empathize with personal pieces being hard to part with. I have maybe... three?... personal pieces I've done over the years that I can't fathom parting with for any amount of money. A lot goes into personal pieces that doesn't--can't--go into work done for someone else (and perhaps that's why I enjoy buying original pieces of artwork that aren't of my own characters). Starting with a pinup or single portrait sounds like a good idea.
