This is Hwan Yi, the Kitsune Eldritch Scion Magus, and my character from our group's current playthrough of "Reign of Winter". Our group finished the first book of the adventure path with only one casualty (though one player was forced to drop and another was forced to retire his character by DM mandate).

Quite an... interesting party heh

Hailing from Tian Xia, he is traveling with his companions through Irrisen to reach Whitethrone. While not exactly dumb, common sense is a foreign concept to him and he is rather forgetful. He also has the worst attention span in the world, being mostly oblivious to his surroundings. However, he is very protective of his friends and won't isn't afraid to run in head first to protect them.

Some crummy backstory I concocted during character creation, excuse the shit writing haha:


Growing up by the Wall of Heaven Mountains in northern Tian Xia, he has gotten accustomed to the harsh freezing climates. He lived in a village with his mother and his younger siblings, a brother and a sister. His father left the village one day, although the reason is still unknown to him.

One day, a caravan was moving out and was looking for hired help; this piqued his interest and he asked where they were headed. "Ahh, young man, we're about to head off to Taldor, we will be making a stop at Heldren. You're more than welcome to join us, we can sure use the help." He agreed to join, it was a chance to get out of the village and was an excuse to start looking for his father.

While checking on the merchandise he has noticed that something wasn't right. A small fox was sleeping in the caravan; he probably stowed away. Hwan approached the fox, startling him. Noticing the tiny Iron holy symbol of the their matron goddess Daikitsu on the fox's person, he beamed. "Hey! You must be a kitsune too? The name's Hwan. Why don't we travel together? We're headed to Heldren and it would be keep each other company." He lowered his voice and whispered into his new friend's ear, "Plus think of all the shenanigans we can pull." He snickered. (This is another Player Character in our group. Sounds contrived, but that's what we came up with)

Upon reaching Heldren, they stayed for a week. He looked up to the sky and noticed something strange: it was cold and starting to snow, in the middle of the summer. "How curious..."
