Locomotion/Stance Reference
I made this for my character sheet commissions! For when I ask people this question. XD It got really popular on twitter to my surprise (for a random personal guide I made.) This isn't like, 100% accurate anatomy or anything, and there are wayyyy more ways that real animals stand/walk/run etc.... (bats, sloths, seals, whales... etc.) These are just the common ones I get for my character sheet commissions which are usually for costumes so they need to fit over as padding over a human leg. Art is all taken from some of my older character sheets I did.
Stuff on the bottom is just some common examples from real life (well other than "fantasy creatures") and not intended to be ALL species within each category, that would take a lot more than a tiny column. Obviously, your character is what you make of it but these are just examples of what animals are in reality!

This really helps. I'm gonna link people to this from now one when i'm trynna explain stuff. Also that kangaroo leg really really helps. My Fursona has legs just like that and all this time I could not for the life of me figure out how to draw them properly.
Awe, you're welcome! It's really nice to see this is helping people.
Well, TEKNIKLY, digitigrate is more like walking on toes and and part right next to it (2 points of contact).
The metatarsal area of your foot it’s actually still part of your toes. (Look at any skeleton and you’ll see why, it is!) You have to use that part for balance and you’ll notice as a human walking on “your toes” this is true.
