I've decided to write a veyshort story to it. I'm not very pleased with the out turn but i lost motivation getting into more details. I hope you like it anyways. And enjoy the view ;3

VAULT 04

It all started about a decade ago ... Back in the 2056, the government of the United States started a new project called 'Refugiens Continentiam' in Vault 04, which was used to be a high tech laboratory back then. The project was an experimental shrinking device. A great step for humanity to get huge amount of supplies and items transported easily all over the world. Or that's the idea about it. The project was a great success! After a few years of researching it has changed the entire logistic system for good! After another 11 years, the government was taking a next step forward to the whole investment. The new idea was, to actually shrink human life to such insignificant sizes, they could solve the over population problems on earth.

It's 2077, the great economical war had just started, when masses of people get evacuated into their Vaults. The perfect opportunity to get those human experiments started, which the government has been waiting for years. In Vault 04 they planned a family project which only people with at least one partner and one child could rent a room. In any cases, once the person gets shrunk, it will have company and won't get completely isolated form social interactions due its incredibly tiny size. Virtual rooms with some tested, and shrunken furniture would fill out their homes which are in fact boxes made of two way mirrors, used for the scientists to examine their suspects without being noticed. However it was simply clever. So the shelter sellers didn't even have to explain about the experiments. The people wouldn't even notice what happened to them. A portal of some sort warping the evacuated people into those shelter rooms and shrinks them in the same progress instantly to the size of merely half a millimeter. Sadly, the whole project wasn't done and no worker nor leader was really aware of it, when they just figured out that there would be no way to finish it during war time. Their biggest issue, there was no invention of growing people back to normal sizes.
And so it happened. The crew of scientist starved to death while the tiny people used to live several years in those boxes, unaware of whats really going on. There was only one specific family I can tell about, which actually figured out the secret of their true surroundings but they had to pay a terribly unfortunate prize ...

A four headed family had a great time living in their virtual chamber. The technology allowed them to feel like they lived in a real world all by themselves and so they didn't even notice how fast time passed. They eventually stopped counting the days, forget about the actual vault they are living in.

The ground suddenly vibrated, a loud, thooming slap against one of the wall made the whole family jump in shocking surprise! Everything went into terrible chaos and for several seconds the whole room lost gravity, the whole family and its insides flying around before an ear deafening thud was heard along the screams of the whole family. Then everything went dark, the box smashed into pieces.

The father of the family slowly opens his eyes. He was lucky, slightly injured from the crash but he felt dizzy and lost in a confusing world of towering, red structures. They looked more like unrealistic huge trees covered in some sort of nylon or fur. He couldn't really tell. But then he remembers, his family. What actually happened to them? Where are his wife and children? Whats this world he found himself in? He was about to collapse in all those questions when he suddenly heard his wife, yelling in the distance.. He stood up, still feeling slightly dizzy he slowly wandered through this creepy world of huge, surreal trees. The ground seems soft but covered in weird cotton clouds with some branches inside of them. Were they living on a new planet? The father shaking his head, he had to focus about his family first. After walking a few yards he could see his wife and their youngest son holding her hand. Both paralyzed in fear at their surroundings. The older son was climbing one of those massive structures, waving at his father when he made the half way up. The fur made it easy to climb those trees. However the father made him stop climbing, they should stay together and he might fall. When they all were united again they tried to figure out what happened, but they didn't have much time to when suddenly the ground started to shake violently. The kids are screaming and holding onto their parents when suddenly a blurred figure approached above them. Slowly its head lowers in the distance. A humid scent of dog breath and saliva fills the air, gusts of wind pulling on the trees further away slowly coming closer to the location of the lost family...
