- May it be (Feat. Merina) -
My own rendition of the song I always used to have on repeat when it played during the end credits of the first LOTR film.
Many thanks AND kudos to for singing a surprisingly tricky vocal part; well done to her!
This was performed as a solo on my Ustream show last week.
Thanks to everyone that takes a listen!

Oh wow. This is gorgeous in every sense of the world. An amazing cover, accentuated by a beautiful vocalist. Exceptionally well done.
Merinawish sounds very good for that part of the vocal, good job to your music skills and her singing skills
Hon, you've outdone yourself. You and Merina on this, it's overwhelmingly beautiful. Brought me to tears listening, even more than the original. Thank you, Fox, for sharing this with us all. If you have any other pieces, including covers, with your work and Merina singing, I look truly forward to hearing them.

Even more magical and emotional than the original... I'm astonished.
it was ever so serene played with the music. she sang well enough, as not many can copy Enya's voice style
and that is not critic, that is but a honest opinion and no offensive nature what so ever. great cooperation..

She is emphatically not Enya...
...but her voice works beautifully for this song.
Well done!

:) Hey Hey.
I'm glad you enjoyed listening to it. No-one can beat Enya though ;D

Wow, that's gorgeous, Fox! And yes, Merinawish did an incredible job. Lord of the Rings is one of my absolute favorite movie trilogies. THANK YOU!
it's very nice indeed, well done to you both. as a LOTR aficionado I appriciate this on many levels.
I dont think any words could possibly compare to the emotion this song gives, nor how beautiful it is.
Amazing job, and well done.
*scampers off to watch her as well*

Absolutely Amazing job. She does an excellent job on the vocals you your work on the music is beyond top notch. Bravo!

I sure wish I could have been there when you recorded this!!!!!!!!!!
Mpfh, There you touched something you'd probably should not have...
Sorry in my oppinion it's acceptable but way below what I'm used to of two artists as excellent as you two...

I personally think this is one of the better covers I've done, especially with Merina's help. But thanks for being honest with your opinion bro :3
Where would be the "profit" in writing comments if you can't even say your honest oppinion XD
Hello ProudOne,
I think what you might wonder about is the basic backingtrack seeing as Fox does a lot more complicated stuff usually, and my not always perfect voice.
Perhaps you´re also used to the way M-One mixes my vocals, and here it's very different, as Fox did it.
Also you could think, because Enya has a crystal clear voice, that it's hard to meet up those standarts, and I absolutely agree with that.
But overall I'm pretty satisfied with what was done, and I hope to do more :)
As you can hear I'm not that good with taking long breaths and with the higher notes I kind of have difficulties, and it's very hard to record those in a decent way as well.
But thank you for the honest comment, and perhaps you'll like a next collaboration better.
It's been great working together with Fox so I hope to do more of that =)

First off, you have a great, astounding Voice. you just have to find songs which it works in better.
About the mixing, that might be true.
And enya's voice cannot be matched, that's true; it's what i meant with "There you touched something you'd probably should not have... "

Ghehe, I'm glad you still think so though I think I could have done better in this.
XD And I'm glad you agree on the things I've said XD And now I've got nothing to say. But yeah just thought I would let you know.

XD I wouldn't say I do Enya credit. Enya has a crystal clear voice and no-one can beat that, haha.
But thank you <3
But thank you <3
it's so wonderful, the voice, the music ... when i hear this i see an wide open field with birds flying over a field of flowers. its like in a dream.
I love Celtic, and I love LOTR- this is hauntingly beautiful! Well done!
great work you two! I hope you two team up for more pieces soon
Wow you both did a wonderful job on this! and merinawish has such a wonderful voice! fits the song so well
That wasn't bad, but... it felt restrained. Merina could have practiced the song a bit more, not that she was singing badly, but she didn't seem to project her voice and sounded kinda reserved. I think I'm with P1 on this; I've heard better from both of you.
Hello Mookie,
As you might know I'm very used to working together with M-One so this was very different for me.
I don't think I sang this perfectly, as I didn't, and I'm a picky person when it comes to that.
It's very hard for me to take long breaths and to do the higher notes, and to record that in a nice way is perhaps even harder.
For the next time I hope to do perhaps a lower song together with Fox, I think that would turn out better.
Thank you for the honest comment =)

Dammit, FA still doesn't have a "Fav Repeatedly" button.
Beautiful piece and wonderfully executed.

This is quite a nice rendition. An interesting thing I noticed was the additional female vocals used in the refrain (in the Elvish language, I should add. XP). Overall, I like how it still gives this ethereal, "new age" feel like the original recording featuring Enya (even though this rendition sounded a bit reserved, IMO). Great teamwork on this, I should say.
Whoa, whoa, whooooa.
Dang, Merina can sing. And the instrumental part is excellent, as always. C:

wooooowww i almost fell asleep cuz it flowed so well. that was awsum... i luv lotr lol
Nothing to add that others haven't praised. Would love to see you do more LoTR music, maybe an instrumental one next time? FAV
As I listened to this, I could feel shivers running up and down my spine (in a good way, of course). merinawish's voice is absolutely gorgeous btw. :3
Undoubtedly one of, if not the best cover you've ever done. Bravo <3

Thats Great! Wouldn't expect anything less from you two! Great job!!
Wow, very lovely. She is a very good singer, highly enjoyable piece of calm music =D
wow. damn. I love love love this song from the original soundtrack! So awesome to hear this again. :)
What an amazing voice you have. Very well sung. Fox, as always, very well arranged and put together, I love how you've mixed the vocals in. Very well done, the mix is pretty much perfect.
I can't fault this. Faved.
And a last note on the vocals... this could make me cry it's so beautifully sung.

OMG one of the best pieces from LOTR's soundtrack! MASSIVE kudos to that voice!
Enya also has been trained and watched and fawned over for her voice because she is that good. I like people to explore what they can or cannot do in the realm of artistic and musical muse. I know of Fox Amoore's music when I stumbled into it, what is it now, two or three years now, maybe more? His music will always be a delight to hear. For Merinawish, I have never heard her sing but I think she sung this song wonderfully. I agree it was a bit reserved but as playing an instrument that requires a lot of breathe control, sometimes it is hard to get that decent breathe in to sing it properly.
Great job for the both of you. Continue to explore you muse and you'll be better for it. :D

now that I relisten to this her voice is beautiful... ;.=.; she is up there with Enya... soo.. oi..*wipes tears from his eyes*
I just love how she's used a lot of legato, and it's not always that easy to do so in a piece like this. It's also really wonderful to hear that we have some awesome vocalists on FA. :D
Yeah, thats what makes it so difficult as well. It *sounds* easy, but the breath control and phrasing, because it's so delicate, is really quite tricky. I don't think everyone realises that.
Very awesome. MerinaWish may not be Enya's match, but she comes damn close!
Wow pure melody glee to my ears. Coming from a vocalist I send the singer AND composer A
WOW your voice brings tears to my eyes with its beautifulness thank you very much thank you
you to Foxamoore
you to Foxamoore
EXCELLENT job! Superbly done. Both you and MerinaWish performed wonderfully. Thank you for sharing it. :)
First and foremost, from a fellow trained vocalist, to merinawish I send an astounding BRAVO! Brought tears to my eyes. I would love to see you tackle more Enya in the future, you seem to have the depth for it. And that's..... really saying something.
And to foramoore I can do nothing but bow politely. Your cover was beautiful. I would love to see you do a rendition of "Edge of Night". (All Shall Fade). Youhave superb talent. I sincerely wish I could have caught the Ustream. Blessings to you both, and thank you for posting this.

^___^ I'm glad you think it's good. (Hehe, though I think it could have been better, but we'll see what happens next time)
Me and fox are planning another song so I think you'll definitely get to hear more ^_^

Fox, I do hope you pass this along to Merina as well.
Stunning work... both of you. Truely marvelous. Some may have gotten the idea that this was meant to replace Enya's version. As noted, nothing can and probably ever will. What the two of you have done here is a wonderful tribute to a spectacular film and to a spectacular voice.
Merina, I loved the addition "depth" of the sound of your voice. It is a wonderful pairing of a great vocalist with a great musician. I am a sucker for well placed reverb, echo and delay. Music played in a great hall sounds like nothing else... BRAVO to you both! }:=)

I've always loved that piece, so beautifully done. Your remake is interesting, nice take on it :)
Foxamoore.. The beauty of this piece is awe-inspiring. The vocals are absolutely gorgeous, and in soft growing crescendos they bring the tranquility of the work rolling onwards.
You truly managed to create a melody that inspires peace and comfort.
It is a pleasure to have the chance to listen to work like this.

thank you so much! i'm really enjoying listening your music *hugs*
I have to say I've read a lot of comments about how crystal clear Enya's voice is and I agree but I think the more mellow, soft tones uses better compliment the message that is trying to be portrayed here. Comparing the two versions yes Enya's is more clear and more "professional" in that it was originally her song, but I think that the meaning she was trying to get across, which has always been that of peace, hope, happiness and serenity in my opinion was better captured by the softer edge. On top of that it was a theme song specifically for the Lord of the Rings movie, and the softer tones sound more elven than the crystal clear version. At least in my experience with Elves and whatnot the sharper sound to music was always attributed to other races, with the Elven music being ethereal, light, and flowing. Especially for this type of Elf. I can see Arwen more at home with a harp than a pipe, but keep in mind this is just one musician's opinion.
That was really great. Ok, sure it wasn't "perfect" but then again nothing is. I think that Marina did a superb of singing considering she's not "a professional" as far as I know.
Just...wow, merina has such a gorgeous voice, even I try to sing this song to myself and can't get the tune right, this sounds almost just as good as the original version! Wow, more inspirational pieces bouncing around in my head right now!
Beautiful work for a beautiful song, well done to the both of you! Merina if you're reading this, get yourself on American Idol!

Well...Dutch Idol then? Or come to the UK and ordition for X Factor or Pop Idol xD.
I know these comments are 2 years old, but Jezz is SO right. Your talent FAR excels most of the stuff you'll see on shows like the Xfactor. I think you'd make the judges jaws drop harder than they did with Susan Boyle. :P
THIS IS EPIC!!! VOCAL IS AWESOME!!! HOLY CRAP!!!
This is so haunting and beautiful that it nearly made me cry. Seriously wonderful voice Merina.

Oh, yes I do, I like it, admire it - and envy you a bit, as my own will never reach your level (anymore due to a wrong hormone treatment I once got :/).
It's always great to listen to such a voice :)

This slipped by me completely, I've only just noticed it exists. Excellent vocals in the song particularly, it's a very enjoyable rendition of it (and I'm a real fan of the original song too). I love it when music of this calibre emerges from unexpected sources.
Hey :) I'm glad you thought the vocals were good. We're planning something new, so be sure to check Fox's page in hopefully the near future. ;D
Ugh this is my most favorite song in the world. Merina, you have a beautifull voice and both of you did an amazing job on this song. Thank you so much for sharing it.
Just wow... MerinaWish is truly amazing in this song. Like just amazing! Amazing job for both you and Foxamoore for this truly amazing song/cover!
:) Hey thank you very much ^^

Glad you liked it that much.

This is one of my favorite songs from the LOTR films, and just one of my favorite songs in general, and you good sir, have done a fine job with it ^^
Very nice I really like this one. When I was about 6 years old, my mother read out The Lord Of The Rings to my sister and me. We didn't bother with children books, instead we went straight on to adult literature. The Lord Of The Rings influenced me a lot, it stayed my favourite book until I was grown up. When the movies were released, it was a bit as if a childhood dream was coming true, like something happened that I was waiting for since I was a kid. Later on I discovered that J.R.R. Tolkien was one of my godfather's best friends and I'm still sorry that I never had the chance to learn about him, because my godfather died last year.
Oh, I'm a big fan of this song, and this was pretty darn good, if just a little slower than I'm used to hearing it :P
Hmm...I must say I like this a lot. It is a little slower than I'm used to hearing but it's great all the same. MerinaWish's tone is just right for this song and she did a lovely job. Very good job.
I can't tell that it's an amateur production. That's a very large compliment to you both, by the way. :)
Hehhehe, I think my vocals could have been better.
It's hard recording in a living room as well.
:)
But thanks =)

That was amazing. The higher pitched sections in the song were sung absolutely brilliantly
That's just amazing! I REALLY love it! :)
Did you ever send this version to Enya, Roma or Howard Shore? I am totally sure, they would like it ;D

Of all your great works, this is definitely one of my favourites. Though I do prefer the original, this is an amazing piece of music, and such a lovely voice. You two should do more together . Bravo!
(No doubt, the original is better ;D. But yes we are planning to do more works together :) And I can't wait )
it's a really great voice....she has got talent....a lot of talent (excuse my poor english)
Hey Shaddar, thank you so much :) And don't worry your english is not that bad :)

This is absolutely stunning! If I didn't know this was someone else, I would swear this was a concert version of the song performed by Enya herself! Bravo!
*falls over in delight* Wow she sings so much like an angel. Enya would be proud of her.
Thank you so much ;D That's the best compliment ever.
I'm sorry I didn't check your comment sooner, I don't go here that often anymore.

I played May It Be for my school orchestra once. What a beautiful song. I love this version :3
All I can say to the both of you especially MerinaWish is:
Wow!
When Enya sings it her voice makes you drift away into the world the song is about.
MerinaWish did a very rare thing and that is she made me drift away into the world the song is about.
I'm completely blown away by how beautiful a singing voice MerinaWish has.
Faved!
