"As technology expanded, Liz-Tec shifted its focus from crocs to their own brand of anthropomorphic lizards, which, while lacking the strength of the much larger croc-men, were faster and smarter, and far less prone to cancer. They were also less reliant on the exo-suit (which was upgraded in major ways as well) to become effectively aggressive when needed. Lastly, Liz-Tec lizards could much more easily become sapient, and therefore more useful to the company's various investors, (though the option remained to keep some as mindless drones, as it was quite popular with the UEA, among others.)"
