When The Shadow has downtime from his duties as The Harp's primary guard, he prefers to spend it in peaceful solitude. He is fastidious with the upkeep of his possessions, particularly his various blades. They've returned home from a long trip, and he finally gets to spend some time in his sparsely decorated private quarters without the noise and distraction of crowds, politicians, and devotees attempting to get their personal piece of The Harp. A smokey black tea fills his practical iron teapot, and favorite cup once broken. At times like this, the only interruption he wouldn't mind would be Harp poking her head in to share a new book she enjoyed.
Made this piece with the help of my amazing patrons over on Patreon! Last month they voted for me to do a simply illustrated slice of life piece of one of the characters from TeaFeathers, something that might have some of my painted style but be closer to the panel of a comic or a frame out of animation. I am excited I get to work on another one of these this month, starting next week.
Patrons get layered PSD files and exclusive WIP shots of pieces like this, and first looks at all world development material too. Check it all out here!

Very unusual stylistically, reminds me of a grainy old time photograph.
Oh gosh I'm so happy to see more of Shadow! He and The Harp interest me quite a ton!
Your artwork is truly amazing and you inspire me everyday to improve my own art
I love the warm, dusty afternoon feeling to this. It's so peaceful. <3
Oh, that soft light from the window is sooo real, creating tranquil mood. Character and everything else on this picture is also great.
