This was basically an exercise, just to see if I could.
So unlike some artists, I'm quite a stickler about associating a certain body type with a species. Yeah, I know, stereotypes were made to be broken, but I see no point in wasting something you're given automatically. And there's still limitations to consider, just as with humans. I mean, unless you've seen a Japanese Mr. Universe walking around.
And I thus I doodled a bunch of guys, keeping in mind the specific proportions of the animal's body--facial construction, limb thickness, torso depth, hand/foot size. Then after, I traced the animal in mind over them, to see if my experiment worked. And for the most part, I think I succeeded.
Given that this is me, I stuck with species often associated with hot guys. Because, yanno, hot guys.
At any rate...
Tiger: Massive limbs/hands/feet (especially arms), but narrow torso.
Rhino: Thick. Everywhere. Stumpy extremities.
Bull: Bulky chest and upper limbs, small lower limbs.
Bear: Heavy and massive.
Badger: Broad and powerful, no taper.

I'm so glad you have a wider array of what you consider to be a hot guy. Its very refreshing to see within a fandom that considers maybe one or two rigid perceptions of attractive masculinity.
Also, I enjoy seeing your artwork. Thanks for that as well!

I have to admit I am generally pretty bad at that. There's a LOT of guys I would not kick out of bed, but I end up mostly drawing beef. Back when I was originally designing my cast of studs, most of my friends' OCs had the other body types covered, so I was actually fairly DIFFERENT by bulking them up.
Yer welcome!
Yer welcome!
Nevertheless, you still manage to keep some diversity. Don't change that. Ever. It adds to your substance as an artist.
Are your Rhinos scowling cause they're nearsighted and don't have glasses on?
Ha! No, just the stereotype of the animal's disposition.
PlusscowlingguysarehotCOUGHhey look at the time, gotta run!

heheh, I'm only ever scowly(squinty and worried) when I'm not using my galsses(cause I lost them)
Well done! I'd say this is a lovely expression of what humans would be like in animal form or vice versa.
Something about the otter is unusually cute.

Yar, most people assume that a species should be all-around huge, but few of them would be. Bulls CLEARLY skip calf day
He's...jaunty!

I'm half tempted to request what a lion-type would be, but I wager you'd state it'd resemble a tiger...with a more epic hair style.
Yeah, species with similar builds to what was there (lions, horses) were kinda bypassed for simplicity's sake ^ ^;;
An very interesting experiment you did there. I like the bull/human, the rhino/human and the bear/human !
Sorry, sorry. Please, lie down and take some aspirin, you'll feel better.
Because not many species are simply fat--it doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense evolutionwise. Bear-ish is more useful.
The closest I can think of would've been a walrus, but even they're more chesty than potbellied.

Well, when people ask me about whether or not I'm mesomorphic, endomorphic, or ectomorphic, I just quote my favorite Weird Al Yankovic.
"I'm fat, I'm fat, I'm really, really fat."
"I'm fat, I'm fat, I'm really, really fat."
So...ectomorph
And IMHO, you don't look morbidly obese, you look like you carry the weight pretty well.

This is good variety, but where's the pure chubs? Overweight guys with no muscle? Those are also body types...
Heh, see the comment directly above yours I was matching bodies to species, and very few animals are overweight with no muscle. That's how you get eaten!
Interesting it reminds me how for a little while I did hear the term "otter" when it came to slimmer hairy guys :D
*gets an evil look on his face and goes to say something but remembers to be polilte and bites his lip*
I actually knew a guy who was built like the otter. He had some form of dwarfism.
And literal scrawny chicken legs.
And literal scrawny chicken legs.
Those were actually completely separate thoughts. I never saw otter build guy underclothed. It's eagle guy who has the literal scrawny chicken legs.
Well, technically I'm not biased cuz there aren't any tigers in that pic. The feline on the left could be a cougar, after all
Love this. It's nice when artists try to make sense of certain things like this.
Awesome work as always love your style and your wide range of types
I like that you did a wide variety of body types. It's nice that there isn't just "one-type" that fits all but a nice multitude, just like there are of animals. It's sweet seeing you create so many builds as well. Plus, lots of hot guys all quite hot. ;-3
Yeah, there's so much variety, why not reflect that somewhat? Plus it was interesting stepping back from my usual designs and rethinking how the species SHOULD be built...
AND I APPROVE OF THEM ALL.
All the expressions match between human and animal, apart from the bear! I wonder why the furry version isn't smiling?

Yayez!
Iunno, I guess I consider it a default since most animals have downturned lips naturally. Not sure why?

Hmmm... the otter guy kinda has the proportions of a little person, thinking out loud.
I didn't notice that at first, but I see what you mean. Other than the neck...

Like Hidetada "Hide" Yamagishi?
Like Hidetada "Hide" Yamagishi?
I was going to mention him! drooolll slobberrrrr Great variety of anthro-physiques! FUNNESS!
I suppose I don't know the competition that well, but I assumed only the winner was considered Mr. Universe
If you want to get technical about it. However, my point was that sometimes limits can be overcome, and in any case there are lots of nicely built Asian guys out there, like these fellows.
And MY point is that OBVIOUSLY there are outliers, as there always are (I go to the gym regularly, and naturally there are other Asian guys there). But they still should be considered as such--it can present an interesting narrative of the challenges and perspective, as opposed to being, for lack of a better term, just "kewlsie", which is how it is generally treated. Think children's books about friendly sharks or bully mice, vs I LIKE MOOSE AND I LIKE BISHIE GUYS SO IMMA MAKE A BISHIE MOOSE.
I really dig this one. I find myself trying to fit both the REAL ME and my fursona into a bodytype.
Interestingly I did come close to including a rodent or rabbit bodytype. Though that would probably have meant extra little forearms and lower calves, and that wouldn't fit you!
Then again, the word "muscle" did come from the base of "mouse..."

That is part of my thinking. It doesnt fit no matter what! MAYBE a kanagroo mouse since I've got these legs.
Wow! Interesting idea of feature anthros to represent various human male body types.
I fit in with wolf type. So choosing a husky was the right choice.

Hidetada Yamagishi is offended at the idea there couldn't be a Japanese man at the O! He doesn't place well, but for my money he has one of the more aesthetic physiques. Then, the Olympia has been geared more and more towards size and mass monsters to the point where I think the physique category has guys that actually hold to the ideals of aesthetics. I mean, I'd never wanna be the size of Phil Heath or Kai Greene.
Yeah, I was assuming the title only applied to the winner. Also, considering he's the ONLY one that two people have mentioned, he's clearly an anomaly
All in all, they're perfect as they are.
Now I wonder how does the stallion body type would look like.

Much like the bull; big torso, slim legs. Though less thick and longer limbs?
Less thick and longer limbs? I like it. Along with the big assets, iykwim.
Would bang 14/14
Raptor is my fave, but I would do damage to that otter.
