I didn't use any samples. Drums are all programmed from scratch (every cymbal and tom. Plus I do have an electronic drum-kit that makes it easier to write the loops). Recorded all guitar bits (electric and bass). Though I layered a synth on top of the bass because my bass playing is a little shitty, heh.
I have EXTREMELY bass-y headphones, with that being said this was just epic.
Oooh yeah. An explosion of bass from the very beginning. That would be sweet :D
Thanks! It's essentially just a compilation of riffs I tend to play whenever I jam. Easy and fun!
I used a fender jaguar (with humbucker pickups) for most of the drop d riffs. (the Jaguar is my baby!) And for the solo in the middle section i borrowed a friend's ibanez rg for his awesome floating bridge to make those crazy squeals.
I checked out some of your music/covers. They're pretty awesome!

I bet, haha I think my all time favourite guitar neck to play on is Fender Stratocaster. Just the way a Fender feels is amazing in my opinion, and they can be proper metal machines with a humbucker in XD
Thanks mate, that's kind of you to say, I appreciate you having a listen :D

I used to own a strat (japanese make, though), and yeah it was lovely to play. Some of my favorite guitarists (mark knopfler and david gilmour) are strat-cats! Though i upgraded to a jag purely because I needed something more versatile/experimental to work with (and also because of my peculiar fondness for surf music). And it sounds wonderful with my fender superchamp amp. What guitar(s) do you use?
Heh, I've never owned a strat of any kind... well my first electric was a cheap strat knock-off, so it was awful to play. Fine for a beginner guitarist way back when though haha
Yeah, I get that. A Jag with a humbucker will be very versatile to be fair, I only have one Fender personally, a Fender Precision Bass butit doesn't get used all that often anymore :|
My main guitars are my two Caparisons, I have a 7 string one and a 6 string one. I have a myriad of others though, including a 74 Gibson V, but just none of them really get used much anymore.

A '74 flying V? That's pretty wicked! I've never heard of Caparison (then again, I'm not a huge metalhead) but those guitars sound pretty mint after browsing them a little on youtube. I do have a bass as well, an Ibenez GS, but that doesn't get used that often either.
It's nice to chat with a fellow guitarist though. Most of the musicians I come across in FA turns out to be EDM producers XD

Yeah, it's a nice guitar but it never gets used nowadays. Caparisons are my "brand of choice" hehe. Pricey, but excellent instruments, and good for doing non-metal stuff as well. My six string Caparison has coil splitters so I can get close to a strat sound out of it, which I love. I only play bass when I'm laying down the bass track for a recording, that's the only time I play it really.
Haha likewise, we are lurking on here among all the EDM, I like to keep an ear and eye out for musicians though because I'm very much into music ;)
Admittedly, I found your page through the "how a voreaphile plays videogames" pics heh, but noticed you had music too, so had to have a listen and was duly impressed! :D

Coil splitters are awesome. Lots of modern guitars are using implementing coil splitting pickups these days. My jag's enforcer pickups also has that function to give me that extra surfy twang at the roll of a switch!
Heh, awesome. I'm a dragon of several talents. Art isn't really one of them (only been doing it for a year). But I am a writer and musician at heart (Doing both for about 8 years I think). Honestly I can spend all day talking about music since I'm fairly open minded when it comes to genres, just like yourself.

Yeah, I like versatility a lot. I play a lot of metal haha, but I do like to do other things as well, particularly Pink Floyd-y style stuff and chilled music.
I would disagree that art isn't a talent of yours heh :P I wish I could draw, but I don't have the natural skill or time/patience to practice developing what little I have in order to create art. I focus on my music, though admittedly I have written a little here and there too. Music doesn't really get noticed much in the fandom, which I feel is a shame but I always like finding it as there are a lot of talented peeps lurking here!

It is a shame! Because you've got bucketloads of talent as a guitarist after hearing some of your stuff. Very fluid playing. Hard to compete in an art-driven community though, which is why some of us musicians/writer do branch out into art a little to get noticed a little. You discovered my music from my art, after all, right?
Anyways, it's nice chatting to you. I'll definitely keep an eye out on your future stuff. And perhaps one of these days it'll be cool to do a little collab of sorts. I love collaborating with other musicians (I'm currently working on an experimental track with someone who specializes in rnb/rap vocals. Not my genre of choice but definitely curious to see how it pans out!)

Haha that is very kind of you to say, thank you :D. I actually play predominantly outside of the community if I'm honest, which is where most of my music-focus lives. I post demos I won't be using in anything to FA and keep my "professional" projects for elsewhere XD
Pretty much yep, I have art on my page too, though commissioned as I can't really draw haha But yeah, i think people have done the same with mine, found the pics on my page and then found my crummy little recordings on there XD
Yeah I'd like that XD I'm super busy a lot of the time so no definitive time when I can, but certainly something that could be fun to do!
That sounds cool, I'm not into rap particularly, but I am always keen to hear experimental stuff!
