A creepy thing this way comes, cause it's that time of the year again.
As an exercise I decided to limit myself to just using the standard round brush for this. I've missed working in this way!

the atmosphere here is absolutely amazing-- wow! your use of colours is fantastic. really love the mood that the headlights set, and the composition is great. I'd say that the foliage frames the image quite nicely c;
not sure if it was intentional or not either but the green/red colour contrast definitely sets an eerie, spooky mood. possibly one of my favorite works from you thus far. keep it up!

Thanks a lot Frindle, that's very kind of you to say. I thought the green/red contrasted well too!
Good place to bury a body, that will become undead later and seek revenge.
a creepy thing comes this way at all times of year. it is called an automobile. (looks like about a 1959 DeSoto. yes i remember them. i was 11 years old that year myself)
it is an evil presence which has invaded the home of all those little glowing eyes.

poor squirrels, they just wanted to glow in peace. (and you nailed it, that's the car I had in mind while painting this)
Ah, i see you settled with the greenish palette!
You were saying you had trouble with mixing in the reds, but I think you really nailed this piece man.

thank green, I put up the yellow version too for comparison.
This is the best thing I've seen yet this Halloween season...I only wish I could fav it more!
Ohh geez, this atmospehere and colors! It goes so well with the smooth style!
O.O Damn, this needs to be the cover of a book... and I need to write that book, immediately. Truly inspiring stuff!
such an amazing use of green and red. =0
one of these days I'll figure out how to do awesome lighting and environments like you, hahaha.
plus I'm really loving all of the little critters spread throughout- really adds an extra level of depth to this.

thanks ammunition, it was tricky getting the red to look alright, glad to hear it worked out :)
This is such a choice scene! those textures you painted in and the lighting is just mean!!
You know your title spoop here sorta reminds of a extremely creepy cemetery in Michigan known as Soop Cemetery.
I like the ambiguity as to who is truly the monstrous presence here (all those glowing eyes). Masterfully done!
Absolutely loving the effect of the raindrops in this one. I love how attention was paid to how things refract off the drops. Also, glorious raindrop depth of field!
UUGHH!!!! Don,
This blows my mind every time I look at it!
I'd love this on a large canvas!!!
The atmosphere gets me!
[Edit] Your line stroke is absolutely wonderful. The leaves, the detailed hairs on the cat creature in the foreground. And I'm in LOVE with the very subtle blue hues on the rock in the mid/background!
Fucking. Love. It.
Brilliant.
