The wording on both parts is blocky, and awkward. I'm not quite sure how to fix the first part, but the second could go like this.
Target creature this creature is protected from deals damage to itself equal to it's power.
By saying target creature "you" are protected from, is inaccurate, because "you" are the player. And by adding "to it's toughness" is redundant because damage is always dealt the the toughness of the creature.
Just a bit of constructive criticism.
