Good point! While we definitely would be smart enough to think of that possibility, we are also extremely brave, you know? :)
Brave does not mean foolhardy. As long as ONE person gets back to let everyone else know what is on the other side of the portal, that is enough. Everyone charging forward to certain death may be brave, but it also accomplishes nothing.
