I'm trying to decide what to upload from the things i've made during my hiatus. Maybe this fits? Although sorry but i have NO IDEA where am i storing this compilation's files, so this is just what i uploaded to my DA too. The way i archive my traditional drawings is disastrous.
So i drew these when i was feeling down about myself and my life and this made it better. I have some books that lists species of mammals, fish, reptiles and so forth, with pictures for each species and i used those books plus Google of course to get ideas from real animals for these.

Stellar. I really enjoy looking over each one!
Whoa... I love this so much! That antlered one at the bottom especially caught my eye. Nice work!
Thanks. :> That one is a weird one, i guess that's what i personally like about it.
This is awesome! The play of shapes and textures that is really eye-catching.
How big were they in real?

Thanks! Not much bigger. All of them would fit into a 10x12 cm rectangle. I mean each one. Not all of them at once. D:
Mechanical pencil, I suppose? It seems more comfortable to work with it on small pictures, but I've heard a lot of things against using m.p. in any cases.
I use mechanical pencil for EVERYTHING. I mostly used mechanical pencil in life drawing class too, and those were about 70x40 cm pictures minimum. I usually got the highest grades which are 4 and 5 (equivalent of B and A?) and won several prizes, so i have no bad experiences with it. My temperament goes well with mechanical pencils. Regular pencils and rough paper surfaces or things i can't micromanage irritate me. EXCEPT for charcoal. I can get behind charcoal too. I'm not sure why each individual who speaks against mechanical pencil does that, i can only guess that most of them simply haven't figured out a way to make with it pictures they like, or their personality doesn't mix well with the tool.
You should be an embodiment of endless patience!
You can't incline mechanical pencil to get a wide line, also it is hard to find 8B hardness - and it is the only difference I could notice.

I wish i had as much patience in every other area of life. :I
Mechanical pencils are meant for precision and cleanliness (architecture for example), so they are not for drawing thick lines. They aren't really a good choice for soft leads either for the same reason. I always use 2B, but every brand has a different kind of 2B, so Rotring 2B for me plz. Other reason i like mechanical pencils is because they don't need sharpening and they don't change line thickness that much. They are pretty similar to technical pens in that regard (another tool i like). And the techniques that are good for it are similar to etching.

Lovely, always a treat to see your work! Been checking back dA occasionally but happy to see you posting again here too :).
I gracefully missed the "reply to this post" button and added a plain comment. What can i do? XD
Oh hi! :> I missed being here too, although mostly without realizing it. >,< Anyway i'm glad i found you (well, you found me to be more precise).
My "secret" writing i made when i was like 14. =P Now i also use it as a font for a fantasy alphabet. On here i listed various traits i want to incorporate into the heads, like "butterfly wing".

Would you actually encounter one of these large dragons and attempt to kiss them on their lips? Serious question. And if they're intelligent enough to speak and they would allow you would you trust them enough too?
First and fifth on the right colum are my favourites. Although I usually do not like that noodle"beard, tentacles things whatsoever.
Your detail is impressive. I will watch you for further commisions of mine.
