(( Hey all,
I suppose I should update this again with something newer... so... one of my character models. He is one of my newer-painted models, so... I'd give him a 5-out-of-10... maybe a 5.5.
Anyway, being an Empire player, you have to suffer with mediocre Leadership. Thusly, one way to help throw some bandages on this big old wound of a penalty is with a Battle Standard Bearer Captain giving you the chance to re-roll ALL of your Leadership tests. And here is mine, Janus Van Fleet. As an aside, I found out that "Van" is more Belgian-Dutch than "Von"... hence the name.
Anyway, it's the old Brangaza's Besiegers Standard Bearer, with the addition of a crossbow glued onto his back. I know that Captains can't get crossbows... but I liked how it looked. And it's a Pistol-Crossbow ^_^ , as they can get Pistols. I also kept him with the crossbow in case I ever get enough Besiegers to paint up as a unit. I have some... but not enough to really qualify. And Empire crossbows can't get armor anyway.
Anyway I painted him with a mix of Ral Partha, Games Workshop, and Valerjo paints. I like the worn and weathered look of him, and the black-yellow-red goes well with other elements in my army. His brass-silver armor looks more like my main unit of knights as well... so... I think he blends some of the color patterns and themes that I've tried to use lately.
Still, though, I'm not sure what I want to do for a banner for him. I had one picked out, but... its mostly royal blue and looks really Scottish with the unicorn rampant on it.
Anyway, I like how the passive is bigger and stockier than normal shields. So... if I get him an Enchanted Shield, he already has it.
So... there you go. Hauptmann Janus Van Fleet. ))

((I forgot to mention that I took the picture with my cellphone, so... my bad about the average quality of photo. I really need to work on my photo taking skills. ))
Armored like a tank. Always a joy to see how far metallic paint and a simple black wash can take a mini.
Don't suppose you have any opinions about this End Times thing that's going to blow up the entire setting, by the way?

(( Hey Camarilla!
I thought that you were drafted by the Anti Zombie Ebola Government Task Force of Complete Unity... also known as AZEGTFCU... or... Ah-zegtufku? um... yeah... it sounded funnier in my head.
He actually has a primer coat, a base coat, an ink wash, and a dry-brush highlights ^_^ I went all out! I do like how the brass took to the armor wash and silver highlights. Makes it look like he actually is out on campaign... instead of out on parade. He's not a poncy elf!
Anyway, oh, I have thoughts about the whole End Times disaster that is going on. And opinions. None of which really matter, though, as I don't have controlling stock in Games Workshop, and can only really wait to see what they actually decide to do.
What about you? ))

Sorry for not spotting the detailing on him. Guess I assumed the effects were from lighting. Which is a compliment, I think.
As for GW's current creative direction... I'm just going to sit way back, pull out my emotional and financial investment, and watch what happens. I predict crashing and burning.
I'm gonna be content with what's been made in the past, playing in the setting and games I love. Though also admit I am running my own 'Nagash Returns!' campaign in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. As for my work life, it's been a mess, but it doesn't look like I'm going to Liberia. My employer went absolutely insane when I brought it up.
