I often wonder about their society. They can't all be infiltrators and assassins. There'd have to be some kind of civilians, wouldn't there? For that, I like this. There's always two sides to everything.

I would have agree on that since there has be more then one queen since one have go bad meaning there has be many hive and with what happen at that wedding /fighting i can imagine many are staying hidden till this every cools down

I get the feeling the invasion was a desperation move; they'd run themselves down too far to just infiltrate and absorb quietly without harming anyone, so they took the hard route and tried to force things. Somehow I doubt it was a plan that would have worked even if they'd won.

I'd more wonder if they can draw sustenance from any other source. If you think strictly in a nature sense, they'd have to; maybe it wouldn't be as powerful or nutricious or potent as what they tried to steal...but maybe they could have subsisted on other emotions? A Changeling sitting in a bistro, nursing a cup of coffee might (if contact isn't needed, only proximity) tap hundreds of others for very miniscule amounts that would add up to a decent harvest. Least, that's how it works in my mind. But that's the slow, patient way.

Clearly it'd be ill-advised for them to get into 'relationships' with their prey, to draw more power, as at any time they might slip up unconciously. Decloak while sleeping, forget a detail about something, do something not-in-character. LOL... I wonder if they have a history of pulling one-night-stands as a quick and easy way to draw food? Then they just don't assume that disguise anymore, leave the prey wondering where their favorite person went to, and wash-rinse-repeat the whole cycle. As long as they didn't draw too much attention (lots of breakups with individuals who subsequently disappear is kinda eerie from the other side), they could do much.

your not the only one since changling are technically form of emotion vampires in a way but there not much how they feed specifically. Also since there insect like meaning there chance there something out there that could seem them as food source since MLP world might look peaceful but there are areas that be down right deadly for basic pony or animal folk
