[OLD/ABANDONED] TMNT - To The Victor
UNFINISHED PROJECT - ABANDONED NOVEMBER 2009
Eager to hone their skills, Michelangelo and Donatello challenge each other to a training fight, with the loser facing a forfeit.
The question is, who won?
Anyone who has seen either of the Great Unfinished Collections in my scraps (Vol I and Vol II) will know that I always have a lot of works in progress which I am yet to complete. This is the first of three abandoned pieces of artwork which I have now decided to upload in their unfinished states as I no longer plan on finishing them in their current forms.
This is the oldest of my unfinished pictures which I largely ceased work on in - wait for it - November 2009. More than five years ago. It is Panel 1 in the first volume of my Great Unfinished Collection.
To most folks, it probably looks like it could pass as a finished piece of work. In truth, this was meant to be just one panel of a five-panel piece depicting a whole load of foot worship activity. However, I ran into a series of problems with it which caused me to halt working on it, and I ultimately never made any further progress.
The first problem was the size of the picture. I was still using my old Windows XP computer when I created this piece, and I forgot to resize the scanned drawing before I started colouring and shading it. The file became so large that Paint Shop Pro would crash every time I attempted to open it on my old PC. Any attempt I made to resize it outside of Paint Shop Pro with the software I had at the time either damaged the quality of the picture or merged all the layers together, hampering my work with it.
By the time I bought my new faster PC in 2011 and was finally able to get this file open again, more than 18 months had passed and my skill level had changed. Looking at it afresh, I noticed a number of aspects of the drawing that I was unhappy with, most of which would've required me to completely redraw sections and start the whole picture all over again. The thought of having to start over was not one I particularly relished, and consequently the entire project went dormant. For the record, I never even put pencil to paper on any of the other four panels either.
In recent years I haven't given much thought to the Turtles, though they have crept back into my thinking in the last few months and I am inclined to try drawing them again soon. However, even though I don't wish to revive this project in its current state, I am likely to explore some fresh ideas which cover similar themes.
So TMNT foot fans, watch this space.

missed your work :D
missed your work :D
Heh - to be honest, I find them all largely the same! But then given that I drew Leonardo and Raphael in that Tydo Turtle Trouble piece I did some 6 years ago now, I have drawn all of them at least once.
I will be drawing more of all of them, I suspect. But Donatello's grown on me for some reason. Don't know why.

Wuhan! This is hot - perfect for the upcoming winter! ;) Thank you for uploading!
I love the Ninja Turtles and even more Donatello! He was always my favourite turtle and of course he won! ;)

Time to scarf down that stinky, greasy turtle foot cheese! <3333 fucking love this! it's so disgusting and soooooooooo damn smelly!
Oh no-no, this doesn't mean no more TMNT! There will be more TMNT from me. I just haven't gotten round to drawing them again for a long time now, but I've been feeling the urge to do so recently.
A bit newer, actually. The piece you're referring to was around the turn of 2008/09. This one was closer to the end of 2009. From what I can see on the file dates on my hard drive, I must've started this in about September 2009, then progressed it this far by November and never worked on it again!
dude, excellent work. I mean this is just- I'm speechless. Ive seen tmnt foot art before but this one is defiantly in the number one spot. Thank you very much for sharing this mann
Heh - if I get round to creating a proper new picture of them, I'm hoping it'll be miles better than this old pic. But thanks!
Ah, I could see the 2009 quality swirling in this picture. I have to say though, you depicted the turtles very well here. The anatomy is still impressive after all these years & the overall result is motivating me to create my own artwork & practice my drawing ability.
You were 21 when you started this right?

I was indeed. (How'd you remember that?!) Turning 27 soon. Long time has passed since this picture!
Thanks jordan.
Thanks jordan.
If anyone's going to have stinky feet, it's going to be them turtles ^^
Nah, I've never been interested in Splinter. I was only ever really into the Turtles themselves.
So you will never do a splinter pic, aw i would like to see him in your art style with something like this
Wow this just made my day especially the fact that Donnie is my favorite. I often imagine things like this but usually it involves Raph and Mikey.
I know your website has been left unupdated for a while. I assume that your either way too busy, or working on a tonne of pice. Love your art dude! You are the best paw artist by far!
There's been nothing to update it with of late. I might put these unfinished pieces somewhere on the site but haven't got round to it yet.
I have a lot in the pipeline but haven't gotten anything finished for a while.

That's too bad man! You are truly the best foot artist! This Christmas, if you would be so kind to do so, try to get down and dirty wity the drawings. When ever I have anything that needs doing, just delving into it for a few days helps. Sometimes as an artist, one can feel like their tires are spinning. They make artwork, and more, and more, and eventually they get tired of the process. I tend to find that having a commont theme or story line and an end game to shoot for helps to not only coordinate your effort, but also creates an entertaining medium of which to create a stronger fan base of your work. Hope that tid bit was useful. If not/so, I will end by saying that I look forward to your next project!! :)
Heh - well thanks, though I'm not sure your advice really applies to me. My biggest problem of late is simply time - we've got things happening in the family that are soaking up much of my free time and I simply haven't been finishing anything. As for a common theme/storyline, most of my artwork is individual pieces with different characters so it wouldn't really work. The only continual series I do have is Snapshots, which I've already planned ahead for, and the next instalment should hopefully be uploaded before the end of the year - time permitting, of course.
Well time is one thing one can't control. I hope to see many more masterpieces from your beautiful mind. All the best for the holidays!
Oh you are so awesome for this! Please do some sort of Leatherhead and Splinter pairing! Doesn't even have to be adult. Maybe them comparing paws or something. Been on such a TMNT kick lately its not funny, and lack of Leatherhead stuff.
Unlikely, I'm afraid. Never liked Splinter and not overly familiar with Leatherhead anyway. But thanks.
Leatherhead is a big ultra sexy anthro croc. You'd probably like his foot paws.
