I made this for Anthrocon but never got the chance to photograph it and upload it. I was working literally up to the last minute. I did most of it in the two days before we left for the con.
It didn't sell, but I'm rather glad, because I wanted to get some pictures and also possibly work on it some more. Also, I didn't get to spend much time with it before I handed it over to a new owner :P
I think expect more sculpture in the future. It's entertaining to me and a nice break from illus. stuff.

Ooh! This is gorgeous! Amazing detail in those feathers and I love the colors. And he's got goggles and that's a plus. XD Goggle do make everything cooler. ^^; He's very adorable! Also I really love those little details in the cuffs (not sure what they are..^^;) that he's wearing. :D This is making me want to dabble in sculpture work even more than I already wanted to...:D ^^;

sculpture is really fun so long as you don't let the mistakes get you down. I am sort of a lazy perfectionist (bad combination) so I have trouble with highly detailed projects like this where a lot can go wrong. But I stuck with it because I wanted to put it in the AC art show.

I'm a bit of a lazy perfectionist too...more leaning towards the lazy side. XD My perfectionism only really shows through when I'm doing realism and sketches. But I wouldn't be able to tell if you have trouble with highly detailed project 'cause I see almost everything you make as highly detailed. ^^;
Me and sculpture haven't really gotten along though due to my art teacher in high school. He always tried to force project relating to Picasso on me and I just sorta started hating sculpture after that. ^^; That and clay makes my hands feel weird...But I do want to try it again.

Oh, $100. And I hear some people were very interested, but just couldn't spare the cash. But that's Ok :3 I gave it to a friend.

I hope he appreciates it - I'm amazed it didn't sell, especially when people spend more on less at those cons.

Wow... note to self: save up money, find another Hibs dromaeo-sculpture, and snatch it up pronto. $100 would have been WELL worth it :) I thought this was a painting done on a photograph until I realized that it was an actual sculpture - the detail and paint is just amazing.
Everything about this is amazingly beautiful. I can't believe it didn't sell for that price. :o
