The only convention, been going since 2007, is Anime Nebraskon in Omaha, Ne. Its every Nov. I wish to go to a furry con that is near where I live as well but cannot go cause traveling is far.

Welllll I've been having a handful of people trying to get me to attend Anime Nebraskacon for a few years now. So one of these days, I just might listen to them! |D
Really helps that I'll be in driving distance for it and could easily get a roommate. Just need the funds really; which won't happen this year but next year could be real promising. I attend a lot more anime cons than anything else.

Thank you! I focused on the shape quite a lot to make sure it was unique enough but recognizable as an AD. I'm glad you like it!
I don't know if this would sound rude, but OMG THANK YOU for this!!! I been trying to figure out how to make Feathers/Horns etc, and you are doing it with foamies and It just came to me on how to work on my most complex oc when I make him and now how to do it!!

Don't thank me just yet because I'm actually NOT using foamies! Although they would be a fine alternative; you can slightly heat-form them but they're definitely not a durable or strong.
Sonar's feather mohawk is made from a fairly new product called Fosshape. It is a material that is very similar to felt, but woven with thermoplastic fibers so it can be heat-formed to whatever shape you want and turns into a "plastic fabric".
And the horns are just carved from normal upholstery foam of course. I usually tend to mold and cast everything, but I wanted everything soft on this suit.

You would have to cover it up with something, it's very roughly textured and wouldn't look good if you tried to paint it. I am putting fleece over mine since that's the material found in all the AD suits for feathers. But you could use a different material for realism or different effects.
