oh gods I HATE when I start working on the wrong frikkin' layer xD
.D Thata has happened, and other is that you start drawing lines to the background layer x.x
its ok i do the same when i color ^^:
whats most annoying though is trying to figure out which layer has the mistake on it XD

It happens. I do everything on the wrong layers all the time. I am so oblivious. x3
This is one reason I switched to illustrator to do my linework. Each individual line is it's own thing, so things and easily be plucked apart and put elsewhere.
HELLO MY NAME IS: "Has no fucking clue how to draw or what art even is."
Hello! My Name Name Is: Running out of undos, attempting to fix the problem
thats why I make an entirely new folder JUST for the lineart.
One folder for sketch/rough
One folder for Line
helps me avoid this mistake because I have to make sure the folder is there

My boyfriend does this all the time...
If it's a colored sketch I use gimp and remove it almost inmediately. (There's a "delete color" option on the gradient tool that works awesome).
If it's a black/gray sketch it's a little more complicated, but nothing unfixable.
First, I use the gradient to remove as much of the gray as I can and then I apply curves (colors>>curves) to it till all the sketch is gone. (Curves can damage the smoothness of the lineart, I usually add some blur filter if it ends up too jagged)
All of this can probably be done with PS, but I don't know as I don't use it.

I'm surprised art programs don't provide an easy way to fix this. A sort of "redo on new layer" kind of feature.
LOL
I need one of these name tags to wear x3 I do that too often
